Meet Tristan Welsh | Actor and Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tristan Welsh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tristan, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think about risk constantly. Not in a negative or overwhelming sense, but rather in the sense of risk management. Which risks am I willing to take? In this industry you HAVE to take risks to grow and succeed. As an “artist” I think the fun and the real creativity comes from taking greater risks. Throwing caution to the wind and acting courageously despite the it. But risk is inherent in this industry. It was a risk to move to Los Angeles from Missouri. It’s a risk sticking it out in LA through a pandemic, two strikes, and one of the worst fire disasters in US history. The biggest risk we all make as artists is betting on ourselves, and that’s a risk I’m always willing to take.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The way I express myself artistically is primarily through acting. I recently also started picking up more modeling work as well, but my preferred lane is definitely through film and television. I would say that I’m most excited about what’s next and what’s ahead. I started picking up a little steam in the latter half of last year and am very interested in seeing what 2025 will bring!
There are a few ways things that I’ve picked up along the way trying to navigate this industry. To name a few that have worked for me or stood out to me: Find meaning and purpose outside of work, build a community of people who support you and hold you accountable, trust your instincts and preparation, and finally I’d tack on meditation and mindfulness. It’s too easy to worry about the future, when life is happening right here and right now.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles is so vast and has so much to offer it’s hard to choose! I’d probably start with a hike to the iconic Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory, and cap off that night enjoying some street tacos from the first taco truck you spot. Spend a day in DTLA going to The Broad, The Last Bookstore, and eating at any of the dozens of vendors in Grand Central Market. For a beach day, you have to go to Point Dume and stop for some fish and chips at Neptune’s Net off PCH. Lastly, for a little shopping day, we’re hitting the thrifts and unique shops all up and down Ventura Blvd. Ventura is probably my favorite street in Los Angeles with all of its incredible restaurants and shops!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people that should be mentioned here. I wouldn’t have made it this far without dozens of people supporting me. My mom, sister, and niece are easily my number one fans. My amazing girlfriend and all of my friends in LA. My mentor on all things film related Actor/Cinematographer/Filmmaker Justin Phillip.
Needless to say-I have an incredible team of people propping me up for success.
