We had the good fortune of connecting with Tristen Sosa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tristen, how do you think about risk?
Albert Einstein said it best ” A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new “. You can take this quote in many different directions, but for me it is a strong value of taking risks. Thru out my whole life I have lived by taking countless of risks. I’am a professional dancer, choreographer, producer and most of all artist, and I have learned from my countless failures. Learning every time I have fallen how to get back up even stronger then before. My failures soon turned to become more victories for the future. I knew I had it in me to become more then I was, I just didnt know how to get there. Until I started to take all the risks, not caring how I looked, not caring about the judgment from others but most of all not listening to my inner parts of anxiety. I’am grateful that risk has pushed my limits to find my voice and establish who I’am in this world of Entertainment.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I love most about my art is I can tell a story thru movement, song and film. My creative vision sets me apart from most, because of the things others cant see, hear, or feel. I like to think I have a super power of creativity. I live in my head constantly creating every second of the day. Which is hard for me to sit still, but I would rather be on the move then looking at a screen all day. I have been on multiple television shows like ” So You Think You Can Dance “, ” Dancing with the Stars “, ” Americas Got Talent “. But the thing I’am most proud of is producing shows and films. I have produced sold out shows on the Las Vegas Strip. Most recently I have finished producing my very first short film in Hollywood. The amount of challenges I have over come to get to this point is crazy. I have come to find out that I don’t look at challenges as being difficult. I just look at it as a fun obstacle that I need to accomplish. Making my over all experience exciting and fruitful. My recent short film ” Gentlemen’s Awakening” is the start to my new entertainment company ” Sosa Entertainment “. Our company is for helping hidden talent rise to the stars thru dance, music and film. I want the world to know my art as a form of expression they can relate to. In the end bringing gratification to there souls!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love adventure and wonder, and my bff would feel the same way. I would start off my week waking up in Los Feliz area, giving a green naturing environment. Heading over to ” Cafe Los Feliz “, ordering there amazing Soujuk Breakfast Burrito. They also cover fantastic latte options, giving us the energy to move on to the “Griffith Park”. Taking a cute sort hiking trail all the way up to “The Griffith Observatory”. This observatory overs the most extravagant views of Los Angeles Seeing downtown sky rises all the way to downtown Beverly Hills. Besides the views, it offers a free museum of astrology science. Which I could spend hours diving in to all of its knowledge. Next on the journey of adventure vintage thrift stores are a must, finding rare clothing options that no longer exists. Finishing up with a dinner of texture and flavors at ” Petit Trois “, a combination of beautiful french cuisine. Mid week I would head over to “Topanga” beach, where squirrels play in sand. This beach is also less populated, making it a great spot to relax without to much disruptions. Grabbing seafood along the coast and checking out great landmarks like the “Santa Monica Pier”. Where my favorite sea coaster takes you on thrill from water to land. The Pier also offers some of my favorite lobster rolls I have ever had. To finish off the week we dive into a world of art and history. “The Getty ” is by far one of my favorite museums to visit. Seeing the history of the worlds art, showcasing true mastery and culture. This often inspires me to re think my own art, to look thru a different lens of creativity.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Growing up all I had was my familia, our system at home was built on love for each other and support in every aspect you can think of. All my siblings close in age are dedicated within the same industry of the arts. Because of this we pushed each other every single day. It inspired each of us to out due the other but also give a helping hand when one was down. Living in a small town Provo, Utah a lot of the folks around did not want my family to succeeded in anyway. Due to the fact my family is latino and the majority of my neighbors are white. This made my family stronger because it pushed us to rely on one another. I’am beyond grateful for the support they gave me during those times. After moving out the bubble of Utah, I created a community of dancers in Las Vegas. I was teaching close to 500 students within a week and also performing on the Las Vegas Strip in multiple shows. My community in Vegas believed in me which gave me the strength to keep pushing my limits. But also to give back to them in any way I could thru job opportunities, education in dance, and a vessel to lean on outside of the arts. It is my nature to always give back in anyway I can. If we help each other more the possibilities of success are endless.
