We had the good fortune of connecting with Tucker Forbes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tucker, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my attention to detail. As someone who trains people who suffer from chronic pain and recurring injuries, my ability to watch people’s form and note subtle movement dysfunctions is absolutely critical to my ability to help them.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a personal trainer who specializes in functional strength, flexibility, and postural alignment. What sets me apart from others in my field is my ability to take people who present very difficult cases — those who’ve struggled with chronic pain or recurring injuries as a result of improper exercise or poor lifestyle habits — and not simply training around their problem but directly identifying and addressing the structural imbalances that were causing the issues in the first place.

That’s what gives me the most satisfaction in my work. It’s taking someone who’s been suffering for a long time and believed their days of leading an active, carefree lifestyle are over, then seeing them build the kind of resilient, dynamic strength that makes them feel ten, twenty years younger. That’s magic. I love seeing the sense of lightness and possibility that gives them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First off, I’d begin the day by taking them hiking on the Backbone Trail in the Santa Monica Mountains. From there, we’d go grab lunch at Chulita, my favorite spot for upscale tacos and margaritas on the West Side. Afterwards, we’d ride our bikes up Main Street then down to the beach where we head up the bike path, looking for a quiet spot to spend the afternoon swimming and relaxing. Around sunset we’d head back and grab a bite to eat at Ghisallo on Ocean Park Blvd, LA’s best spot for NYC style pizza, followed by dessert at Dolcenero Gelato on Main.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout out to my wife, Jessica Forbes, whose love and support are what fuels my growth and keeps me grounded.
