We had the good fortune of connecting with Turk Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Turk, how do you think about risk?
If I had never made the decision to take some serious risk and bet on myself and my dreams, I can assure you i would not be where I am today. Taking risk is still such an integral factor in maintaining my upward trajectory. It’s true what they say, you can’t win big if you’re betting small…and since we’re talking about betting on oneself, why wouldn’t you take some serious risk? The last time I checked, you only live once.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Chaotic Tattoo is the first and only black owned tattoo shop in Hollywood. With over 20 years experience tattooing skin of color, Chaotic Tattoo offers something that I believe Hollywood was desperately in need of and surprisingly enough, was missing from the community altogether. Tattoo shops can feel really intimidating. We on the other hand provide a safe space for all people as well as all artists. We are an eclectic team of dedicated artists and we hope to see you soon for your next tattoo

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We gotta start by driving up to Big Bear. Snow in Southern Cali is a beautiful thing to see and snowboarding is a must.
Next we’re coming down to Melrose Ave for dinner at Frankie’s Italian Restaurant. They’ve been around for over 30 years, the food and the service is top tier, make sure you hit up the bar and let Ricky take care of everything.
And before you leave we absolutely must take a drive out the beach in Malibu. We can go to Moonshadows, sit outside & dine by the waves in the ocean!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Ive got to give an huge thanks to Eric Ellis, my childhood friend. I’d be lying if I said I built my business alone. Although it may seem that way from the outside looking in, Eric has been in the shadows working extremely hard to help me see my vision through. He’s an expert at what he does & im fortunate to have him as a part of my team.
