We had the good fortune of connecting with Ty Reed and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ty, we’d love to hear about a book that’s had an impact on you.
The first book that immediately comes to mind is “The Power of Positive Thinking” by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. This book resonated with me deeply due to its profound insights into the transformative power of positivity. It significantly influenced my mindset, shaping my overall thinking and enhancing my resiliency in the face of challenges.

The second book that has had a lasting impact on me is “Think and Grow Rich.” This book is a treasure trove of wisdom, knowledge, and real-life experiences that have directly contributed to my success in the competitive world of business. The insights and principles shared in the book have served as guiding beacons, helping me navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship and achieve tangible results in my professional endeavors.

Both books have played instrumental roles in my personal and professional growth, instilling in me the importance of positive thinking, strategic planning, and continuous self-improvement. Their teachings continue to inspire me and shape my approach to life and business, fueling my motivation to strive for excellence and success.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have a passion for art and music, which I express through my work as a production artist known by the stage name Manny Nyce. Alongside my brother, Ray Reed, the CEO of First Class Ent, I co-own several sound recording studios in California under the Joy FOE Starz Production Network. Ray Reed, being a partner at Roc Nation, has been a valuable source of knowledge and experience for me, and I have also received guidance from industry professionals like JD Roth and Harvey Mason Jr. Leveraging my network of connections has been crucial in advancing my career and enhancing the quality of sound in my production company.

One of the significant milestones in my journey was securing a distribution deal with the international music label Bentley Records based in New York. This opportunity gave me the confidence to step out on my own and pursue this venture independently. As an executive producer and A&R, I take pride in the success and growth of my production company, thanks to the valuable relationships and quality sound we provide.

What sets me apart from others is my unwavering belief, determination, and positive mindset, which have been fundamental in shaping my career. Working closely with my community through philanthropic initiatives is a source of great excitement for me, as I strive to make a positive impact on the lives of those around me.

The journey to where I am today has been paved with commitment, determination, and a strong belief in the power of positivity. Despite facing challenges such as mental health issues and depression along the way, I remained dedicated to my goals and overcame obstacles with the help of therapy and a supportive network of individuals.

Through this journey, I have learned valuable lessons about the power of networking and self-discovery. I believe that my brand, Starz Academy, is not just about music but also about spreading positive and uplifting vibrations to support youth and elderly members of all communities. I want the world to recognize our contribution in producing positivity and serving as a beacon of light for individuals from all walks of life.
