Meet Umesh Patil | Photographer and cinematographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Umesh Patil and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Umesh, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I have taken is coming to LA to study cinematography due to financial conditions because it’s too expensive to study parents sold property to send me here.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I accidentally got into art field. I was not a bright student at school so my parents sent to tine arts college where I never have to study. From there my journey started.
Being an average student at school I went to study fine art in Mysore which is 500 miles from my city. I was the first person in my family to go that far for studies. Later on I got into photography and started working with celebrities in Mumbai that was my proud movement.
Being where I am was never easy. I did lot of hard work, I did intern for $120 a month for 4 years. I was interning a Ace photographer in Mumbai. I wanted to learn from masters so I did that hard work. Before working with him I use send him a mail for 6 months everyday.
hard work is the key for success there’s no shortcut in it.
I have my own style of creating image. Art is something needs to be feel that’s what I feel when I shoot something
.
Art is something everyone has it in there own style, it can be any working field.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It’s my parents all credit goes to them they are my hero’s. Because of them am able to come to LA and study. Dispute having lot of issues they never said no me to for study’s
