Meet Uros Markovic | Professional Latin & Ballroom Dancer and International Model/Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Uros Markovic and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Uros, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think my whole life i NEVER played it safe. Growing up in a post war country as tough as it seems I feel it shaped me into very determined person who just go for it, not focusing too much on ” what could go wrong” but “how to make it right’. Facing “little’ issues and problems that you constantly face in a career of an artists seemed less of an issue compared to everything what I faced growing up, so knowing this I always approach everything light hearted and somehow it always works in my favor.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In my 20+ years career as a professional latin & ballroom dancer I became National Champion, represented my country in 4 different World Championships (which is a great honor considering only two best dancers of each country can do so), back up danced with artists in stadium in front of 20 000 people and also performed internationally in Japan, China, USA, Australia, Canada and Europe. In my 10+ years career of a international model/ actor I’m proud to say I worked with top notch brands in the industry like Christian Dior, Chevrolet, Gillette,Bud light, Meta and world wide know artists like Pink. Kelsea Ballerini, Future, Muni Long…
All this succes I accomplished by having a great support system and mostly relaying on my own intuition and my own hard work and making some tough life decisions. So many times I failed but as you can see many times it payed off 🙂

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
LA is really a dream city to me. The weather here is something i personally connect to the most. The beach, the breeze and the sun here always hits differently. I already had so many friends visit me, and my favorite place to show them is definitely the beach…Venice has so many beautiful things to see, from canals to activities at the actual beach, like beach volleyball, rollerskating ,basketball, bike riding at the boardwalk, yoga or a pilates with the sunset ,you could even dance to a local DJ blasting music in the parking lot next to the beach…Its a beautiful chaos that everyone gets drown to….

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Big part of who I am and where I am in life goes to two of my main dance coaches who shaped me and mentored me through so many years of my dance career in our dance club “Aurora” in Belgrade,Serbia. Their names are Marija Prelevic and Dejan Barac. Beside the dance education and unconditional love that they had for their craft as a dance teachers, they always uplifted me in my decisions and showered me with almost “parental love”. Beside these two amazing individuals I always had unconditional support from my mother and a lot of my closest friends who were always my rock in the toughest parts of my life and career. I’m so grateful that I’ve always been loved and supported by so many amazing individuals.
