Meet Valeria Zavecci | Founder / Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Valeria Zavecci and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Valeria, how do you think about risk?
For me, risk has always been about seizing opportunities. Every risk I’ve taken has been a learning experience. Yet, these risks have fueled my personal and professional growth, teaching me resilience and adaptability. I always say that after you move from another country not many things scare you, moving from Colombia was probably the biggest risk I’ve taken in my life and it empowered me to realize my entrepreneurial dreams.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I always knew i wanted to have my own business, it has been a journey getting to where i am today and I’m sure there are still a lot of things to come professional wise, this is not my first business but its definitely one that I’m very proud of and that truly resonates with me and my creative side. I think what makes the biggest difference for me its the fact that i really enjoy the process of creating something from scratch, and creating a product that brings joy and practicality to people’s lives during summer as well as pioneering eco-friendly materials was challenging but really exiting. The journey has taught me invaluable lessons in perseverance and every obstacle has been a learning opportunity. Summer Traces is a brand that was created with product innovation in mind and I’m really proud of my team that has been fundamental in all this process.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many things to do in LA, definitely Malibu would be the first stop, walking down the beach and then grabbing lunch at the pier. I always take my friends hiking, LA has some of the most beautiful spots to hike and i love doing it late afternoon to watch the sunset. Driving down the coast its definitely something we would do, and finally grab drinks on a Friday night at casa Madera, it has the best vibe and also the best burrata in the city.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate it to my parents, both of them in their own way have been my biggest supporters, sometimes believing in me even when i didn’t, they support me with everything i dream and I’m really grateful for them
