Meet Vanessa Garcia | Professional Voice Over Actor and Litigation Paralegal

We had the good fortune of connecting with Vanessa Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vanessa, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I highly credit working in both law and voice over for the success behind my voice over career and my authentic branding. Both career paths have allowed me to be flexible, adaptable, committed, persistent, determined, creative, open-minded, and willing to be a visionary when it comes to representing who I authentically am in my public and private life.
I also credit my success to my life motto: “Always an Authentic Visionary; Never a Follower.” I came to the conclusion that successful people are also visionaries. Becoming a visionary starts with answering the fundamental question of what you want to achieve in life, business, etc. Successful people have a clear idea of what they want to do, both professionally and personally, and the strength to persist in the face of setbacks (even failures). Successful people don’t sit on the sidelines daydreaming. They are doers and are not afraid to take risks. Many ventures in life are not 100% guaranteed. Highly successful people, however, do not let such risk stop them. Instead, they weigh the risk against what could be achieved and proceed strategically.
Due to COVID-19 and the recent change in political climate, I have learned that life is too short to not try something new in my life or pivot into new creative ventures. Because I whole-heartedly believe in the freedom of fully expressing myself in my most authentic way, I wanted to also show others in my life that it is ok to venture out of one’s personal comfort zone in the pursuit of happiness and self-love. It was then that I decided to dream bigger and actually take actionable steps towards achieving my own goals and dreams that I have always wanted to achieve, but was too scared to go after.
Along with being a litigation paralegal and a voice over actor, I decided to also become a voice over editor for Fusion magazine, an entertainment publication that highlights the achievements from top entertainment artists and fellow visionaries. I have always wanted to connect with people from the entertainment industry and network with other visionaries as well. I am super excited to embark on this new journey of developing a new skill set while maintaining my branding of being my true, authentic self.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Los Angeles-based professional voice actor, actor, social media content creator, and creative consultant. Being born and raised in Los Angeles, a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, and a woman of color, has allowed me to have an unique perspective on life that adds depth and richness to my storytelling. My journey from these humble beginnings to becoming a recognized talent in the entertainment industry is a testament to my hard work, dedication, and passion for the arts.
When it comes to versatility, I am like a chameleon, effortlessly adapting my voice to suit any project, from commercials to English live-action dubbing to animation to video games. But perhaps my greatest strength lies in my ability to uplift and inspire others in pursuit of their own happiness and self-growth. Throughout my journey, I have shown that stories can shape perspectives, inspire change, and connect us all on a deeper level. As the saying goes, “Every voice has a story, and every story deserves to be heard.” The journey hasn’t been easy, but I believe that vocalizing my passion has inspired and motivated many to pursue their own endeavors as well. I believe that my story is one of resilience and ambition, and as I continue to grow as an person and an artist, I serve as an inspiration to aspiring artists as well.
I was featured in the September 2024 edition of Bold Journey Magazine and the August 2022 edition of the Reel Social Magazine, a United Kingdom entertainment magazine. In 2023 and 2024, I became a Top 40 Finalist for the CBS News Promo Audition Spotlight at That’s Voiceover! Conference hosted by the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS) for two consecutive years in a row.
My voice over work was also featured in the English live-action dub of the Netflix documentary “The Lost Children” in 2024, which was rated Top 2 on “Netflix’s Top 10 Movies in the U.S. Today,” during its first week of airing. I was also featured in the English live-action dub of the Netflix true crime original series “900 Days Without Anabel,” which was also rated Top 4 on “Netflix’s Top 10 T.V. Shows in the U.S. Today,” during its first week of airing.
As far as future projects are concerned, I am practicing and perfecting my craft and networking with other voice actors. I recently completed Improv 101 with Upright Citizens Brigade and cannot wait to take more classes with the infamous improv group. As of recently, I am also embarking in a new business venture as a Voice Over Editor for Fusion Magazine. I have also been a guest on several podcasts such as “The VO Life” and “Rekindle Your Light” which discussed topics ranging from voice acting to my personal spiritual awakening journey. I am also the proud brand ambassador for SuperX, a superhero-based work out apparel company geared to creating truly unique one-of-a kind training apparel. Our brand has officially partnered with such brands as Marvel Comics The Avengers and Venom, Deadpool & Wolverine, Power Rangers, Assassin’s Creed, GI Joe, and Transformers. I cannot wait to pursue bigger projects in the future. I am taking my journey one step and one day at a time and enjoying every minute of it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I was born and raised in Los Angeles, it really is hard to “pin down” an exact area to visit and have the best time since it really depends on the type of day, weather, excursion, and LA traffic. haha But I would say that hanging out in West LA, specifically by West Hollywood and Santa Monica would be the ideal places to have fun. Unfortunately, due to the recent LA Wildfires, I have no idea how the experience of touring these locations will be, as there has been a lot of damage. But I am positive that these communities will still have the same spirit and togetherness to turn a bad situation into a positive experience. We are now in the rebuilding phases of the fires. I am sure we will rebuild bigger and better. #LAstrong

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a special shout out to my family who has always encouraged me to dream big, but also have my head in reality while pursuing my dreams. I credit them, especially my Mom and Dad, for instilling in me the value of hard work, dedication, and being a visionary.
I also want to give a special shout out to my Fusion Magazine Chief-In-Editor Jerry Coria who has inspired me to dream big and go after my own goals and dreams.
Lastly, I want to give a shout out to my voice over friends who have always encouraged me to dream big, go bigger in my performances, and are able to be there for me both professionally and personally. They know who they are. I love and value them so much! A BIG thank YOU!
