Meet Vanity Alexander | Founder and creator of Vanity Alexander, a women’s RTW and beauty & home decor brand.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Vanity Alexander and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vanity, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I believe we are all created on purpose, for a purpose and that each of us possesses specific talents and abilities. I often refer to said talents and abilities as gifts, because if nurtured and honed properly, they will benefit the world greatly. Because of this, I have always felt that it was my duty to share my gifts. When I’m not exercising my creativity, I often feel a great sense of lack as opposed to when I am operating in my purpose, I am fulfilled me in unexplainable ways.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Vanity Alexander is a black-owned and operated lifestyle brand that consists of two sectors: women’s ready-to-wear and home decor that double as beauty products. For additional context regarding our home decor sector, we’ve created a line of candles with wax from food grade certified coconut oil and premium fragrance oils with scent profiles that are on par with exclusive eau de parfums. The specially formulated wax mixed with the premium fragrance oils from our candles acts as  perfume and moisturizer for your body. One of our candles will replace at least two of your existing beauty products and will add to your overall ambiance and decor with its chic design.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit me, our immediate course of action would be to grab lunch and cocktails from Javier’s to give us an opportunity to catch up. Next, we would head to my house to get her settled in and continue catching up in true slumber party fashion with chic pajamas, delicious food, and more cocktails. Truthfully speaking, we would likely end the slumber party festivities fairly early because we’ve both become early birds over the years. The next morning, we would have breakfast, then get dressed to partake in some retail therapy. After working up an appetite shopping, we would head to The Ivy for lunch. The next morning, we would have tea or coffee and a light breakfast, then head to the spa for a day of relaxation. We would end the night with dinner at my favorite restaurant, Crustaceans.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, all honor and praise to God who is my primary source. Secondly, I want to thank my mother, Tina, sister, Porsche, and my uncle Avery who have supported me in countless ways. Next, I would like to thank Kirstie, Charlie Brianna, Brittney. T, Raven, Mecki, CoCo, Chyna, Nikki, Jade, Tamara, Eric Burns, Taylor, and La’Myia all of whom have poured into my brand in one way or another. I want to thank Sally Robertson for being a phenomenal mentor. I would like to show my appreciation to publications such as Shoutout LA and VoyageLA for acknowledging and featuring my brand and I.
