We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Chavez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Veronica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
One of the ideas behind being able to start my own daycare business was that i had enough room in my recently bought home. The process was first gaining our state license and with this license i would then be able to be my own boss with the possibility of being able to gain unlimited amount of monies.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What distinguishes me more from others in the tenacity to continue doing the job and if need be correcting and error that i have done along the way. I am proud and excited to know that at least there have been people who have been able to value my work and have brought me great joy emotionally. I have arrived to my current position I am in by persevering through hard times, continuing with more education and trying to solve problems with parents regarding the education of their children. My job has never been easy. Children’s education can be tough at times always so having peers to be able to consult with is important to help me and my family over come whatever situation that they might be experiencing at the time. All of my work’s challenges have shaped me a lot and have helped me having perseverance in being able to provide better educational services to my community. What we would also really like you to understand is that our work is something totally very delicate and that to this currently in my 18 years of experience I try to do better for the development of children can give good results.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are a lot of places to come and visit while out in the Los Angeles area. But there some really nice places outside of the city as well. One of the places that i would take them to go see would be San Diego. Sea world would be on the top of the list along with the African safari. I have never been to the safari but once there might as well check it out. The unconditional surrender statue is one of my favorite statues so we would go see that. After wards eat some where near by in downtown. Then if possible we would take a trip up north to San Francisco. See the famous Golden Gate Bridge, walk the famous Chinatown maybe eat there was well and then take a drive over to Lombard street. And before leaving we would go to Berkeley to get some delicious pizza and we could enjoy on the way back.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So one of the first person would be my son. He has been helpful beyond words could describe. Helping me start my business and run it as well. I would also have to say that a lot of my children’s parents have motivated me in various ways to continue with my job in serving my community. I also have mentors and peers in my industry that have supported me in my 18 year journey and continue to do so in this day. And with this support i am able to be a better provider in my business than when i first started in my professional career.
