We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Trang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Veronica, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Life is truly a roller coaster that either runs smooth and straight or with twist and turns, not knowing what the next move will be. My passion for photography has always been a part of me since I was 16 years old but I never thought it was going to become a business. When I thought I had the best and secured job as a Project Manager for a successful company, we get hit by a worldwide pandemic. When 2020 pandemic happened I lost my job, leaving me with so many worries and fear. I lost my job August 2020 and on October 2020 I made the greatest risk, and that was to start my own business. I decided to create my own photography business named Sweetest Perfection Photography. While the world was practically shutting down, I was determined to open a new journey. So far this has been the best roller coaster ride I’ve decided to jump on.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
This journey hasn’t been easy especially starting when the world was filled with fear and financial worries. I initially started my business taking foster family portraits only asking for tips whatever they were able to afford. I started Sweetest Perfection Photography early October 2020 and by the end of November 2020 I was taking Christmas photos for about 6 families. Networking during the pandemic was difficult as well as keeping 6ft apart unable to interact during each session.

I feel what sets me apart from other photography business is I’m very open to free session, which I do for Heart Gallery of Los Angeles. I volunteer taking photos of children in the foster care system in hopes to find their forever home. I also provide high quality work for a reasonable price that many could afford.

What I want the world to know is that the impossible is possible as long as you never loss that fuel to keep going and also inspire others along the way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m from Whittier, CA and one of my favorite places to hang out is Uptown Whittier. It’s a small area with the coolest record store Lovelle’s, mexican foods my favorite is Calaveras, and so many small shops for all your interests.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My success would have never happened without the love and support of my daughters Lily, Jari, and Victoria. I also couldn’t have done it without my biggest fan and amazing husband Fon, who purchased my camera and all equipment to get my business inspiration going.
