We had the good fortune of connecting with Vito Finamore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vito, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued music because it has always been the thing I can’t get enough of and can not stop thinking of. I truly enjoy being part of the creation process in all aspects. It is what makes me truly happy. I started my career as an engineer and a producer in multiple genres and have spent the last 9 years teaching and mentoring at Icon Collective in Burbank and now I am the Director of Student Services at Icon Collective. I get to shape the minds of young artists and producers and teach them the technical skills they need to pursue an artistic career and it has really been an honor to inspire so many talented individuals which shows me that I have followed the right path in my life and career. I come from Youngstown, Ohio where having a successful music career is a bit of a dream so to me it was very important for me to make it a reality since my love and passion for it was so strong and really what I wanted in my life.

What should our readers know about your business?
I have multiple hats that I wear in music I have produced hip hop & R&B under the moniker nVMe and I have two music projects that are concept based Sea Asylum & cirella moor as well as a music mastering business named Punching Dolphins all with my business partner Mesta. This has not always been easy creating and sustaining these brands and businesses. We were in Brooklyn, New York for almost a decade with the nVMe project and then moved to Los Angeles and started Sea Asylum, cirella moor and the mastering company Punching Dolphins. Being an entrepreneur, artist, and business owner is very challenging but passion persistence and balance are what make them work. Extremely hard work ethic is what make them work and making clients happy with the process is what allows them to grow strongly. When you have great work ethic and hone in on your skills and being consistent is what allows you to be successful in this Industry. People know when I put my heart, skills and passion into something they are going to get the best results. The music business is always evolving and changing so adapting and constantly learning is what allows you to be successful and constantly ahead of the curve and being the best. I am proud and excited to continue to run these businesses and to continue to create more in the field of music. I would love to start an artist development firm and Record Label in the future.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would obviously keep in mind what kind of things they would enjoy but aside from that, I love that I can always find somewhere new to eat and drink here in LA so the possibilities are endless. I love the beaches here so we would definitely go to Venice for beach air and some people watching and Santa Monica for some shopping and food with of course the beautiful beach and Malibu for more beach and relaxing. Can you tell I like the beach? haha, I also love going to music events so maybe a show at the Hollywood bowl and other great venues in Los Angeles and introduce them to all the great people I know and have met here. I would also want to take them to some weekly shows like Respect Drum & Bass Night and Nightbass. We would definitely get some tacos since that is the LA Staple. I am a big Pizza lover so Jon & Vinny’s and Prime Pizza are some stops as well. We would stop at Icon Collective since where I work is an awesome place to see.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Community of Icon Collective where I teach, mentor, and shape the minds of the future of the Music Industry. It is such a special place that everyone needs to see. I have seen so many awesome people hone their production skills and go on to successful careers like Mindchatter, Pauline Herr, Chef Boyarbeatz, Ranger Trucco, SAKA and Sully to name a few. If you are an artist/producer and want to succeed you should definitely be going there. These people in the collective are very special and teach me new things as I teach them. Also my business partner in my career Mesta, we have done so many things in music and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without him. Check out our Mastering Company Punching Dolphins if you need the finishing touches on your song. Also our Music Video concept project cirella moor
