We had the good fortune of connecting with Vivian Yu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vivian, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Gym Near Me is not about getting individuals fit, it’s about building a healthy and happy community. We provide free workshops on nutrition as well as wellness, while also collaborating with the local schools in order to encourage kids to stay active. It is all about planting the seeds of health as well as wellness from starting. We are also focused on sustainability and using eco-friendly equipment and practices in our fitness facility. The idea is to improve the lives of our consumers and to create a positive influence on the community around us.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Gym Near me is not your average gym. What makes us different is our holistic way to wellness. We are not about pumping iron, we are more focused on replenishing our body, spirit, and mind. From customized fitness plans to nutritional advice and mental health support, we have all your needs covered. This comprehensive way is what I believe creates a difference in the lives of our gym members. Starting a business is a lot of work and effort. There are unique challenges from looking for the right team members to late nights and moments of doubt. Through each challenge I have learned valuable lessons, the most significant is the power of resilience and flexibility. I want the world to know the Gym Near Me as more than a fitness facility, it is a place where you get support at every step of your health journey.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friend visits me, we can have a relaxed dinner at Elf Café in Echo Park. It’s a perfect vegetarian spot with a cozy atmosphere and a great menu that even meat lovers admire. For an adventure, we can go to Franklin Canyon Park. It’s perfectly nestled between Beverly Hills and the San Fernando Valley. It offers an incredible hike and a cute duck pond away from the city’s hustle.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a huge shoutout to a few main players in my fitness journey. Firstly, my family deserves a lot of credit. They have been my steady rock and are always there to encourage me with a world of affirmations and lend me an ear when things get difficult. Their faith in me was rock solid. Then there is also my mentor, Julian. Julian has been useful in molding my approach to wellness as well as business. No matter what a situation is he is always a call away, ready to give me advice and reminding me to take a step back when things get difficult. I also have to give the due credit to the book “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. It is not your usual business book, but its advice about following dreams and listening to your heart deeply related to me in the time of early days of my business. I would also like to thank the community of Gym Near Me, both the team and gym members.
