Meet Voyce: Recording Artist & Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Voyce and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Voyce, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
There was only one habit that helped me succeed and that was practicing being discipline. I realize if I made a goal and disciplined myself to achieve each goal, everything would be possible. There might be some set backs but that wouldn’t stop me from reaching my goal.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well I am an musician turning recording artist. I wasn’t always a singer. I played trumpet and piano growing up. I made the switch when someone told me I actually sounded good when I sing. The transition wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I applied what I learned in music theory to my vocals and took it from there while depending on my ear for a great sound. What sets me apart is knowing that I don’t sound like any one else. I am my own instrument and it cannot be duplicated. The biggest challenge I had was getting my name out there. Once I found a way, I kept doing what works. The one thing I’ve learned along the way is always believe in yourself because it will get hard just like anything else. What I want the world to know about me is that I will tell my story I’m my music. I feel like it is the only way people will hear me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
That is a lot! Since I am in the dmv area, I would lay out a map and tell them to place their finger on a location and we will go there for the day. There are a lot of places I have found that you just have to walk in and experience. If you leave your home looking to do the same thing then what did you really experience? The best week long experience is trying something neither one of you have tried. Makes better memories as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First of all I would like to thank God, my family, and my mother! They have always been the backbone of my success and I can’t thank them enough. I know without them, none of my accomplishments would be possible.
