We had the good fortune of connecting with William Mbua and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi William, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The main thought process behind opening my business was, I wanted to create something behind my passion which was and has always been marketing and advertising. Once I realized there was a wide-open market for brands to connect with Influencers and creators for promotional ads, I knew we were on to something. I also always wanted to own something I could pass down to my son that he could either take over or have as an asset to sell.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Well, what sets us apart from other businesses is our modern-day creative approach to marketing utilizing influencers and strategic partnerships, the brand ambassador program has helped our amazing client achieve increases in sales, customer engagement and creating new audiences. Our business development program has helped our automotive clients increase customer engagement and sales. I am most proud of the results that we help our clients achieve, it always puts a huge smile on my face knowing we have made a substantial impact on a client’s business. This journey was far from easy we have had many false starts and hurdles along the way but each hurdle we used as a steppingstone, Our motto when we are approached by a challenge is to improvise, adapt and overcome. The main lessons that we have learned along the journey are ; to always have things in writing, not every project is for everyone, relationships are the key to long term success, learn something from everyone you come across, get 1% better each day and to always treat customers the way you want to be treated.

The main message I would like to convey to the world is that anything is possible and that we are in the greatest time to start and own a business in the history of the world, with the right marketing you can bring any idea to life. I want the person who is on the fence about starting a business to just go do it with no fear, because difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I couldn’t be here without my Parents who gave me the sales and business skills I needed to succeed in life along with the emotional support and constant encouragement that allowed me the confidence to go into business for myself. My brothers Mike and Al for always giving me the guidance that helped shape how we built the Elev8 Brand. A book I read that really stuck with me was a book Called “Instinct” by TD jakes, which taught me the importance of following my gut. Last but certainly not least my Wife and Son who give me the inspiration and motivation I need to keep going.
