We had the good fortune of connecting with Xiao Han and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Xiao, why did you pursue a creative career?
I have always had so many ideas in my head, and being a creative filmmaker really helped me in pouring them out of my brain. I see the growing need of the audience for more compelling contents that push boundaries of filmmaking. With a certain style of approaching visual storytelling, I received appreciation and approvals from clients and communities, they are the power sources that keeps me going till today.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a passionate filmmaker, driven by a profound love for storytelling that transcends cultural boundaries. My work is a testament to my dedication to exploring diverse styles and cultures, pushing the boundaries of creativity visually. If you visit my website, hanxiao.info, you’ll get a glimpse into my cinematic world, where I have my works that I wish to provoke thoughts and inspire emotions with.

What sets me apart in the realm of filmmaking is my commitment to capturing the essence of different cultures and styles. I believe that through the lens, I can bridge gaps and foster understanding among people from various backgrounds. I take immense pride in my ability to weave intricate narratives that resonate universally, celebrating the complexity of human experiences.

My journey in the film industry has been a challenging yet incredibly rewarding one. The path to success was paved with hurdles and self-discovery. Overcoming doubts, both internal and external, became a crucial part of my growth. These challenges taught me the importance of resilience and the power of belief in oneself. Every rejection, every critique, only fueled my determination to improve and innovate.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A very peaceful walk and talk along the beach, or a lunch box sit down in the city park. I love hot pot, I think it’s a chance for reunion and connection. My favorite go to place is Hai Di Lao hot pot!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Besides my families that are always there supporting me, my fellow creatives friends encouraged me a lot in my creation. With a friend group that’s as diverse as designers, photographers, models, graphic artists. They’re a resourceful support behind my career. We give out each other critiques, support and help when needed.
