Meet Yue Wang | Designer, Co Founder of Sunnie Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yue Wang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yue, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Sunnie Creative is owned by two sisters and their mother. We are a family business that sells really cute and unique earrings. When designing each collection, we always take inspiration from our lives. One thing we are most proud of is the diversity of our product line. We have our own line of styles that really compliments each other.

As an Asian-American-owned business, it is important for us to celebrate our culture through our wearable art. We have been creating Chinese New Year-themed earrings for the past two years. We not only get to share our culture through our designs but also make our customers felt seen/represented when shopping with us.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Owning a small business is never easy, however, our support for each other makes things easier. It is really nice to know that you are not alone in this. It is a bonus to have your family working on this business and similar goals together. We are also grateful for our customers, and we always get super excited when customers give us feedback on our work. We feel like Sunnie Creative brought our family closer together and the positive feedback has kept us extremely motivated to keep going.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
LA has the most amazing food in the world and it is extremely diverse. Whatever food you are craving from any part of the world, we can guarantee that LA has an amazing place for it. We crave Asian food all the time, we go to San Gabriel Valley and Ktown. It is the best hot pot place in my opinion and the food is simply to die for.

The art scene is also incredibly beautiful. As business owners/artists, we usually default to advising friends to visit one of LA’s amazing Art museums. LA also has lots of amazing markets like Unique Markets, Renegade Craft Fair, West Coast Craft and etc. They are always great events to visit and support local small businesses along the way.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to give a shoutout to my family and friends. Starting a business is not easy, and we are super grateful for each other and Yue’s boyfriend’s help in making the earrings, packing orders, and every other little thing. We are also grateful for our friends who support my business from the beginning. Without our family and friends, we wouldn’t be able to accomplish what we accomplished today.
