Through my artistic journey, I aspire to leave a lasting impression that leaves people feeling uplifted and inspired.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As an artist, my work is a vibrant fusion of influences drawn from iconic Pop artists of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Inspired by the groundbreaking contributions of figures like Picasso, Warhol, Haring, and Lichtenstein, I aim to capture the essence of their bold, expressive styles in my creations. Embracing the vivid colors, dynamic compositions, and societal commentary prevalent in their works, I strive to reinterpret and modernize these influences through my own artistic lens.
Additionally, my passion extends to the energetic world of graffiti and street art, particularly rooted in the bustling streets of New York City. Immersed in the raw creativity and cultural resonance of this urban art form, I incorporate elements of graffiti’s spontaneity and street art’s narrative into my pieces. The dynamic interplay between classic Pop aesthetics and the raw energy of New York’s streets serves as a dynamic foundation for my artistic exploration, resulting in a unique visual language that pays homage to the past while pushing the boundaries of contemporary expression.
My art isn’t about reinventing the wheel; rather, it’s about putting my unique spin on it. I create pieces that are unmistakably mine. From incorporating bold colors to always adding my drippy paint affect. I strive to carve out a distinct aesthetic that sets my work . I infuse my pieces with personal touches, ensuring they resonate with authenticity. In essence, my art pays homage to the past while forging a path forward with a signature style that’s instantly recognizable.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
From the Brooklyn of my upbringing to the vibrant Brooklyn of today, the journey would start in Bushwick and finding new spots to have coffee during the day. Talk about the city’s ever-evolving spirit. As I traverse the streets, memories intertwine with the pulse of change, painting a mosaic of nostalgia and progress. Crossing over to the Lower East Side of Manhattan, a visit to Kat’s Deli becomes a cherished ritual, evoking flavors and stories of yesteryears. Walking through the familiar streets, I am reminded of the profound influence this neighborhood had on shaping my creative journey, a timeless connection amidst the bustling urban landscape.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A big shoutout to my incredible wife, who’s been by my side since day one, supporting and encouraging me, even when I accidentally spill paint on the floor. And to my amazing artist family, your unwavering support keeps my creative fire burning bright. Lastly, immense gratitude to the collectors who appreciate and invest in my art, allowing me to continue doing what I love. You all make this journey worthwhile.
