We had the good fortune of connecting with Zoe Nazarian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zoe, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
One of the most valuable lessons that I have learned in my career as a creative is the importance of perseverance. Despite facing rejection and obstacles throughout my journey in acting and social media so far, I have come to understand the significance of staying committed to my passion and giving my best effort despite any external distractions. I had to learn this early on in my life growing up as a child in the entertainment industry. This lesson has become a guiding principle for me as I continue to pursue my goals and navigate the challenges that come my way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My professional journey thus far has been a rollercoaster full of ups and downs. One stand-out challenge that I had to overcome at a young age was that of my self-confidence. Developing confidence can be a difficult journey for anybody, especially young girls in today’s era of social media. As a child, I was confident, but social media led to self-comparisons and self-esteem struggles. I realized online portrayals are not the full picture. Now, as a young adult, I am more confident and self-assured. While doubts and insecurities still arise, I don’t let them define me. I’ve grown stronger and more resilient through ups and downs, pushing forward despite challenges.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being born and raised in Los Angeles has allowed me to experience the city quite differently than people who move here from other places. However, I do love more touristy spots like Disneyland and the Griffith Observatory. I would also plan some time to spend in Malibu, it is such a great area that a lot of people don’t visit when coming to LA.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In the entertainment industry, there have been numerous women who have broken barriers and paved the way for future generations of creatives. These trailblazers have overcome obstacles, shattered stereotypes, and achieved success in an industry that has historically been male-dominated. I am lucky enough to be able to follow their lead and do what I love.

Growing up in the entertainment industry can be both a blessing and a challenge. On one hand, being surrounded by creativity, passion, and talent can be incredibly inspiring and motivating. However, there are also pressures that come with it. By recognizing and honoring the women who have paved the way in the entertainment industry, we can continue to push boundaries, challenge norms, and work towards our passions.
