We asked some of the city’s rising stars to reflect on what made a difference in their journey. We asked them to tell us about what they think the most important factor has been behind their success.
Sen Yoshimura | Saxophonist/Composer/Arranger
First of all, I am so happy about the environment that I’m in right now. Not only am I enjoying what I’m doing now, but I’m also constantly trying to improve on all aspects, which is a part of an important factor for success. I believe it is good to be positive and energetic, as well as finding good things within what you have decided to do. Also, although the way to success depends on the person, I would say that being an organized person has led me to success. Read more>>

The most important factor to my success is being consistent, quality and ethical. Consistency needs to be across the board. People appreciate knowledge and what to expect. We educate our client’s to help them understand the process of our service that we are providing. Together we can make the best choice for their lifestyle and everyday routine. Franck Mille | Co-Founder and CEO of Bovtiqve Fashion Week
Here at BVFW, the most important factor is not just the pursuit of our dream, but learning how to enjoy the journey. Chasing our dreams is a bit like riding a rollercoaster, isn’t it? Sometimes it’s thrilling, and other times, it’s a wild ride. My team is focused on taking the right steps and learning with each one. That’s how we define success — experience and growth. It’s in those ups and downs that life gets interesting. As we hustle and bustle in the fashion and entertainment industries, I try not to forget to enjoy the journey. Read more>>

There’s no faking passion and a true desire to help others. People can smell a scam a mile away – or a business that is there to just take your money and do the bare minimum. When we opened our self-tape studio 9 years ago, it was because I felt a unique calling to do this very niche but important service for the LA film industry. The passion of working with actors and performers is what fueled us to launch Intrepid Tapes in 2014, but the enduring commitment to make other actors’ work as good as it can be is what turned Intrepid into a success. Safyra | Clairvoyant & Yoga Instructor
I think the most important factor behind the success I have found in being an intuitive is disconnecting from the societal norms that set us up to do a particular thing, in a place, in particular way, at a certain time. It was as if I didn’t get the memo lol! I just didn’t do things the way other people did and it didn’t bother me. I very innocently go towards what I am curious about. I don’t hesitate and then I dive into it if I like it. If I had been concerned about college and getting a masters degree or succeeding at a certain thing by a certain time, there would have been absolutely no freedom to cultivate the gifts that I have today. Megan Easley | Filmmaker
I believe success needs to be defined by the outlook you have on your life. If I looked at the first commercial I shot and edited to the documentary I shot and edited in North Carolina just this past year, there is a huge difference! Someone may look at the two videos and think it was made by 2 different people! I think the biggest mistake someone can make in defining their success in their business is comparing yourself to others. Read more>>
