Staci Levine: Marketing Expert, Owner of SLPR, Sacred Woman Retreats and co-founder of the Creative Business WMN Collective

We had the good fortune of connecting with Staci Levine and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Staci, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I have three businesses which all have a common theme; service and community. With Sacred Woman Retreats, it’s my mission to create opportunities for women to come together, free of judgement or competition, whether on retreat or at our various gatherings and events, purely to support and inspire one another. I like to think of myself as a kindness pusher so this platform gives me an opportunity to do some pushing I also believe that listening from the heart is one of the most powerful gifts we can give someone and feeling heard can be incredibly moving. It never ceases to amaze me how inspiring it is to sit in circle with women in this capacity.
With my marketing agency, SLPR, we strive to help businesses realize their goals, which for me is very rewarding, And finally, The Creative Business WMN Collective (CBWC) is a female entrepreneurial group I co-founded. We come together to support and inspire one another; to network, collaborate and help each other succeed. Essentially, we have created a community to help us all thrive in business.
I sure hope these three ventures help others as much as they’ve influenced and impacted my life.
What should our readers know about your business?
Let me start by saying that so many people today are following multiple passions and I think it’s absolutely beautiful. There was a time when we had to choose what “thing” we were – a doctor, lawyer, designer, artist, etc but I think we shouldn’t have to choose only one passion – we can do it all! Is it easy? Absolutely not. But I love what I do so much and the work is immensely rewarding.
My marketing agency SLPR is a 25+ year-old agency that was one of the first fashion PR and marketing firms on the west coast and the first action sports PR agency representing brands like Vans, G Shock, Etnies, Dakine and Smith Optics. The agency has changed and evolved dramatically throughout the years and for the most part I’m only consulting now. I still really love helping small brands grow and don’t think I’ll ever fully step away from this. And then a few years ago an opportunity presented itself, literally out of nowhere and I didn’t know how much it would tug at my heart…
Sacred Woman Retreats was launched in 2019. The idea was to create beautiful and inspiring sacred spaces for women to come together, where we can be authentic, connect in sisterhood and be supported by community. What has become crystal clear for me this past year is that we are meant to be a Collective; I want Sacred Woman to be a place where we foster collaboration and partnership, where all beautiful light bringers and magic makers have a home here and share this platform.
Recently as things begun opening up, I created a collaborative series of 1-day retreats in June, July and August with some of the most incredible teachers and facilitators at the most magical and healing private property in Topanga. Each event offers a unique theme and experience; the idea was to offer people the opportunity to attend a fully immersive and restorative experience without the cost or commitment of a weeklong event. The way the events are structured, someone has the option of attending either one event or two events back-to-back, spending the weekend on the property. All retreats include delicious plant-based meals, yoga, Sacred Woman signature circle, meditation, breathwork, and activities curated for each individual event. As another way to connect, I recently began hosting monthly women’s circles on the beach at sunset on the last Wednesday of every month. These gatherings are so soul-nourishing and I have formed such beautiful connections which I’m so grateful for.
And lastly, the CBWC is such a great group of inspiring female entrepreneurs who share resources, collaborate and help each other thrive. This inclusive community is made up of pioneers, leaders and even young up-and-comers who prefer collaboration over competition. We host in-person networking events, virtual sessions, inspiring guest speakers, digital resources and support in areas of business and personal development. As you can tell, I have a common theme running through all that I do.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love doing this! I have lived in So Cal my entire life and I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be; we literally have everything here (yes traffic and smog too)! I’m an outdoor, nature loving beach girl so I’m living in paradise as far as I’m concerned.
Our day would begin with yoga (we have some of the best yoga studios and yoga instructors in the country right here!), then a beach walk (we can do that year round), or a hike (there are so many great hiking trails less than 30 mins away). Lunch at Cafe Gratitude in Venice and then a drive up Hwy 1, stopping in Topanga for hiking, shopping, and lunch. Then maybe we’d head up to Ojai for a few nights to enjoy the most beautiful trails, oak trees and sunsets!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Every strong, creative, KIND and entrepreneurial-minded woman in my life is an inspiration to me. Whenever I question my ability to accomplish something, I look to the women that have paved the way, women who are strong, fearless trailblazers. Seeing them succeed encourages me and inspires me to keep reaching.
