We had the good fortune of connecting with Talin Amirian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Talin, what role does tech play in your business?
Technology is a vital factor to running any efficient and effective business in this generation, particularly in the Real Estate Realm. With a global pandemic going on, without Technology us realtors would not be able to keep our industry running and keep ourselves up to date with all the new rules and regulations in regards to operating our business with the current conditions. I always try to look at the positive side of any situation that I am placed in and if anything, these past couple of weeks I have learned how efficient an escrow process can still be with a majority of the steps being transitioned to online. Technology also really was put in the spotlight as right now we are not able to physically show homes during this pandemic and are utilizing various different methods of “virtual home staging/showings” to clients who can potentially put an offer on an home without even physically being inside of it! I think if you mentioned this to someone in our industry even just 10 years ago they would think this idea is totally ludicrous, but its amazing how technological advancements mixed with a bit of creativity can really keep a industry alive and operating during rocky times. Also by being tech-savvy and being consistent with marketing online I was able to lease a luxury home through a single DM message on instagram ! If this doesn’t scream how far technology has come since the early 2000’s, then we must take a look back when marketing then used to just be through simple newspaper ad’s and phone calls! I believe to be able to survive long term in our industry you must adapt with the tech-advancements that are occurring and not be afraid to dip into your creative abilities to really have your personality shine through your social media presence. Technology has given us a whole new platform to grasp an audience and have people really be able to get to know us before choosing to work with us, whether thats from a simple “get to know me video” or through our instagram page so THANK. YOU. TECH !

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I definitely would have to say that in this day and age you must be resilient and extremely passionate about what you are doing to be able to not only run a successful business but be happy doing so. For me, being 23 entering the real estate industry it definitely was not easy considering that I wanted to enter a luxury market in an area with a heavily dense population of realtors who a majority, have a good 10-15 years of experience on their belt. Knowing this, I knew I had to have thick skin but I also was determined that if people were able to give me 10 minutes of their time they would see through my character, knowledge and passion why I was capable of assisting them with any of their real estate needs & this was the strategy I stuck to. I think the main thing that truly kept me going from the get-go was not having fear in rejection because it is inevitable and will occur several times throughout your journey. I know to never take it too personally and instead learn what you can from those situations and apply it to your next deal. What I want people to know is that being young and having that hunger, that drive and passion is the best fuel to not only get the job done but excel in it. When I close a deal I not only want to have a seamless transaction but I want people to remember me in a positive light. Whether that being the realtor who helped answered questions at 11:30pm or the realtor who wrote an offer on a home on the hood of her car just to make sure she made the deadline cut for submissions. Talgotthekeys makes it happen one way or another and my genuine happiness is at an all time high when my clients goals are fulfilled.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I would definitely starting the week off hiking at various places including Brand Park & Deukmejian Wilderness Park which are iconic spots in the city of Glendale, CA where I reside with numerous hiking trails to explore. If your a coffee lover, I would reccomend Philz & Regent Coffee in Glendale, Found Coffee in Eagle Rock, & my favorite coffee/breakfast place in Los Feliz called the Village Bakery which is family owned and loved. A unique and fun experience would be to take a pottery class at bitter root pottery and throw your own clay getting creatively messy while grabbing lunch after at Cacao Mexicatessen- a hidden gem located in Eagle Rock. A couple places to check out would definitely be the Americana at Brand, the Museum of Neon Art, the Yoga studio at Sync, and if your in LA in the summertime, end the night with a classic movie at the rooftop cinema club. Theres is so much to explore in and around Glendale especially for foodies as there are various mom and pop staples from cultures all over the world. The last meal before take off would have to be Raffi’s Kebab as people come from out of town just to try this mediterranean delight. Some staples to hit during a trip on this side of town would be El Morfi Grill for Argentinian food, Portos Bakery for all your sweet cravings & delectable cuban snacks, & lastly Din Thai Fung for gourmet Taiwanese Cuisine. One things for certain-you will not be going home on an empty stomach!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout by awesome brokerage Coldwell Banker Hallmark Realty for really shining during these hard times by having all of our staff virtually available to assist us with any of our real estate needs and enabling us to keep our business operating at full speed! During unforeseen times it really is amazing to see how a group can come together and stand behind the phrase “we are all in this together”. Truly this is how it feels to work for a brokerage that makes its realtors feel like family and whether its through our weekly zoom meetings to keep us up to date with things going on or a friendly check in from our office manager, its these personal touches of normalcy that keep us motivated and uplifted which leads a ripple effect towards our clients as well!
