Our city is home to so many incredible businesses and so we asked the founders how they came up with the ideas for their businesses and have shared their responses below.

I’m the CEO of ‘What Nobody Tells Us’ Strategies, which I founded after nearly 15 years of living a double life: A global advertising executive by day and brain cancer caregiver by night for my husband, who in 2009 was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and given six months to live. I was only 29 years old and my life quite literally changed overnight. I went from a newly-minted Strategy Director to full-time cancer caregiver. Campaign planner to patient advocate. I worked in the photography industry right out of high school, which led me to a job producing photo shoots at The Walt Disney Company. One day a dot com reached out with interest in setting up their own photo studio shooting cars. This was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up between my love of cars, photography, and my passion for building productions. This is the job that sparked the entrepreneur in me – I was tasked with building out a studio, a process, a staff, all from scratch. Read more>>

In 2018 I quit my corporate job to finally pursue my dream of owning a webshop with high heels only. I started with selling other brands. In 2019 my webshop started to thrive, but unfortunately Covid hit hard! No-one was going out any more and nobody went into the office.
