What makes you happy?

Happiness is everything. Where there is happiness, everything else is possible and so we asked the community to tell us what makes them happy.

As a person who is always busy whether it’s work, school, social etc, what I have learned that makes me happy is optimal rest! The older I’ve gotten, the more I am in tune with myself; if my mind and body says rest, then that is exactly what I will do. I used to be an avid workaholic until by body completely shutdown (which is not fun). I’ve learned that rest is not only great for my body, but for creativity as well! I think the ambiguity of what’s awaiting in life is what keeps me happy. Over the past 5 years or so I’ve been fortunate to encounter many different people, places, and opportunities where I’ve documented them all. For me, knowing that there are moments awaiting for me, both good and bad, reminds me to enjoy the present moment. So, being in the current moment and appreciating what it is has kept me happy for awhile. Read more>>

Creating with friends makes me happy. My last project was a VR game built in a team of two with one of my closest friends, Ingram Mao. The project ended up getting nominated for a BAFTA, which was rewarding, but the process was the best part. We’d hang out, develop parts of the game, try things & just have fun. In my group of friends, it’s always been about creating & sharing. My friend Zach and I have made films together. I’m happiest in the Wild, Outdoor World. With my feet in the sand, knee deep in the water. Exploring the underwater world through scuba and free diving. Sailing the waters with the wind in my hair. Hiking for an epic view. Frolicking with my children and dogs at the beach. Exploring the world through travel with all its diverse people and cultures. Sipping cashew lattes with my honey in our 100 year old home. Reading all the books. Then talking about all the books. Laughing with friends. Spending time with my brothers and extended family. Then taking all that richness back into my studio by the sea and creating Art. Read more>>
