What makes you happy? Why?

We regularly ask our interviewees what makes them happy because at the end of the day, what else really matters? We’ve highlighted some of the responses below.

I am happy to say I find my current natural state to be that of happiness or rather a feeling nothing is missing. After many years of crushing disappointment chasing after what I thought would make me happy, mainly lovers and drugs, I gave up. I stopped running from my mind and began to analyze the thought process that would cause one to make such bad decisions in the hopes of finding happiness. Recently my brother and I have been seeing a blockbuster movie at this theater that has those reclining seats that are like beds. Each week we bring a small snack to surprise each other with. Last time, he brought me a homemade lemon cookie but he wouldn’t tell me what the flavor was, I had to guess! I brought him some granola that I made in my new air fryer. Ha! Stuff like this makes me happy. Oh and I’ve been listening to a lot of jazz lately! Have you heard of Bill Frisell? He’s great! Watching his old performances on YouTube makes me happy. Read more>>

This is the question I asked myself when I came up with my business idea. I started a list of things that make me happy and what I realized is that I love coordinating things together that spark joy. Whether it is a table-setting and flower arrangements for a party or choosing new furniture for a room, it makes my heart happy to express my creativity thru design and have my friends, family and clients experience the results.
