What will people say when you are gone?

So many of the folks we work with have multidimensional stories. They often aren’t just working on a single project, business or mission – instead they are often involved in so many things all at once and so we often wonder about what they themselves hope their legacy will be about. We’ve shared some of their responses with you below.

Ah, the ultimate question, kind of like asking how one defines success or what his/her self-image is … It is something with which I have struggled since childhood. To be candid, when I was graduating high school, I missed valedictorian by something crazy like 0.02 GPA points per our system. To this day, it bothers me. I remember telling my parents, “If I am not number one, then who am I?” … not the healthiest statement. What I am personally working on and will always be is being happy just by being, not with any titles attached (i.e., Kate the duchess, Tom the athlete, Gisele the model). Read more>>

I want to be remembered as fearless. Perhaps it is only my personal perception but I feel like there is this invisible veil of “logical” or “acceptable” possibilities when it comes to decision making. Not to be too philosophical, but I have been questioning the reasoning behind why we make the decisions we make. I noticed that often times it is the one that is most convenient and especially most comfortable. In my own personal life I often times find myself stuck when it comes to deciding which path to take. Lately I’ve been analyzing myself and I noticed that when faced with an opportunity I tend to imagine/visualize the worst possible outcome. Read more>>

I want my work to be remembered only if it made someone laugh. If it wasn’t funny, really just forget about it. As a person, I want to be remembered as a bridge for other artists to reach their next gig, or collaboration, or the idea for their next show. After leaving behind the competition of New York City, I had a chance to focus on what I want as an artist. I want nothing more than to create what I want to create, and to afford that same opportunity to other artists. Life is too short for competition and selling yourself short.
