What’s the end goal?

It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day, but it’s important to stop ask: what’s the end goal? Knowing where you are trying to go is step one in getting there and so we’ve asked some folks we admire to tell us their end goal and where they want to be by the end of their careers.

As a film producer who has worked on short films, commercials, narrative features, and documentaries that have been selected by multiple international film festivals, including Oscar-qualifying ones, I aspire to become a filmmaker who both collaborates with top-tier directors and storytellers for high-budget studio films through which I can fully understand the ins-and-outs of filmmaking as an industry, and also joins forces with independent auteurs with whom I can push the edges of the technics and art of cinematic storytelling. I hope that no matter what scale or esteem of project I work on, I am able to reflect fondly without regret. Besides that, I also plan to one day settle down and become a teacher. A couple of years ago I worked as a teachers assistant in my college’s summer program. I found a great amount of fulfillment working with the next generation – and discovered that teaching others is another passion of mine. Once I have gained lots of industry experience, I hope to return to a teaching role. Read more>>
