Where do you see yourself at the end of your career?

It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day, but it’s important to stop and ask: what’s the end goal? Knowing where you are trying to go is step one in getting there and so we’ve asked some folks we admire to tell us their end goal and where they want to be by the end of their careers.
I heard this great joke once. “How do you make God laugh?” And while I’m not particularly religious, the answer has always resonated with me: “Tell him your plan.” So while I have an end goal in mind, I’m well aware that it is an ambiguous target, and the whole process of working towards it is why I’m here… But, since you asked, my end goal is to succeed so massively as a human being that my efforts toward goodness ripple across generations of humanity and bend the arch of existence dramatically toward enlightenment. My end goal will be at the very end of my life. I believe self-growth and goal-setting is a life-long process. Without it we’ll be unfulfilled. That being said, If I were at the end of my life and looking back I would feel it was a life well spent if I was able to contribute & be of greatest service to humanity and to the environment. Specifically focusing on endeavors that help empower people and eliminate human suffering. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in screen scoring at New York University. Most students majoring in this field generally aim to become successful film music composers. Professionally, I also wish to become an irreplaceable composer for film and multimedia whose music is necessary and desirable. However, my genuine goal is to become a film music composer in an expanded sense. From my perspective, everyone lives in a movie with themselves cast as the main character. Read more>>
