We had the good fortune of connecting with Annie Bueno and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Annie, why did you pursue a creative career?
Because creative work just makes me happy! I find so much pleasure on creating beautiful things and experimenting with colors, flavors, textures, etc. And when you make something that you feel passionate about, the rest comes with in. You just attract abundance because you’re vibrating in that frequency of happiness and passion! So that’s why I pursued a creative career, because I knew that if I trusted my gut and went after what made me happy, I’d be successful.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I created a brand called Happy Vegannie and I started just posting pictures of my food on instagram. Then I turned it into a blog and started teaching face-to-face vegan food courses. Then I wanted to go more serious about it and taught two certifications in the same subject. And right now I’m focused on growing my brand on the internet, my blog, and my online courses. The drive I get to do what I do comes from the ambition of making an impact on the people by sharing the message of veganism. I’m very passionate about protecting animals and the planet, and I love making yummy food, so this was the perfect way to combine the things I love the most and turn it into my career. It definitely wasn’t easy to build a business about vegan food, mainly because at first people were very hesistant about it, but it has been so worth it to see the outcome of all the hard work put in. I’ve learnt that if your ‘why’ is strong enough, you’ll overcome all the challenges presented, you’ll find the way to make it work.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First of all, my parents, because they have always given me the freedom to go after what I feel is the right thing to do. If I hadn’t had their support and love, I wouldn’t have achieved what I’ve achieved. My brother too, he would always encourage me to make my plans come true, he’d see in me some things I wouldn’t have seen for myself (because of self-doubt). So he has always played a big role in my career, always cheering me up. Also my cousin Roger, he’s the reason why I started sharing my recipes on instagram, he pushed me to do it, he taught me so many things and I’ll always be so grateful to him because he’s always there to support me and always with the best possible attitude.
