Meet Dom Lā Amour: Entertainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dom Lā Amour and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dom, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The only things that have been consistent in my life are family and music. Iāve never seen myself doing anything but performing. The only job Iāve ever loved is being on stage.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Iāve been doing this for 14 years now. Performing and trying to figure out my path. Honestly Iāve been more active then ever. Since the pandemic has stopped the world Iāve been able to write and record music. Networking has been great. I have plenty of Lessons Iāve learned on the way. Number one was from a older musician. He told me to take everything with a grain of salt. You canāt take anything too personal. I feel like thatās the way to go. All I can do is do me. If I try to change every time someone tells me what they think is cool, it will take away from what I think is cool for me. With my brand, it all comes from those who came before me. I wouldnāt be able to do what I do if it wasnāt for artist like Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, etc. Those African American artist really had to walk so I can fly. I hope to continue that journey.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Malibu seafood is amazing! Holy Guacamole is another spot that is a must for me. Local peasant in Sherman Oaks and Idle Hour in North Hollywood. At some point you have to take your friends to KTown and check out Quarters. Rustys on the Santa Monica pier, Beer at Frogtown brewery! More beer at three weavers!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wanna shout out my fiancĆ© Adrienne Shelnutt. I love her so much, and I donāt know if I would be in the position I am now if it wasnāt for her. Iāll be releasing a new album named āNew Artā June 4th, and she is a huge part of that. She gives me confidence, she is my number one fan, and She keeps me grounded. Big shout out to her!
