We had the good fortune of connecting with Devin O’Bannon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Devin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
They say “Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life”. This quote holds a special place in my heart because I’ve always believed I’d be right where I am now. I’ve lived the 9-5 life and always felt like I was limited on my potential and often hit ceilings with zero room for growth. My thought process behind starting my business first began with desiring to find peace. Waking up to jobs that sucked the life out of me with a limited return, got old really quick, but you do what you have to do to survive. Right? I did what was need to make sure my family had food on the table and a roof over their heads, all while slowly but surely building the foundation for my dream job. Black Irish Entertainment LLC is the foundation for my passion to create music and build relationships with like-minded creatives while also making a solid and comfortable living doing what I love.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Black Irish Entertainment LLC is a creative hub for artists and producers alike, to build high-quality music of all genres. We develop songs from its idea to its (mixed and mastered) industry-ready state, all under one house. We are legitimately a ONE STOP SHOP for producing music. My desire to help artists create amazing music that they love the hear and share is how I got to where I am professionally today. One thing that I’ve learned while working in the corporate world is if you take the time to “listen” the door to success usually presents itself. I believe it holds the same weight in the music industry. Not only taking the time to listen to the music thats doing numbers but also listening to what drives the passion behind artists that you work with. Being able to pull the best of an artist is the role of a producer and I feel thats what I do at a high level. It wasn’t easy at first, but I always say when you have a passion for it, you learn from the mistakes which makes it easier throughout the journey. I’ve learned to accept that there is no finish line. You learn. You grow. You reach goals and start over at the next level. And then, once you hit that ultimate level… You Teach! Black Irish Entertainment LLC is a hub for creatives to do what they love in a safe space. My Motto to the world is “Music is a Universal Language… So Let’s Have a Conversation”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well… the Covid restrictions put a limit on what can be done, but I find that the simple things are what makes LA, LA. A day at the beach. Windows, down roof back, music blasting drive down PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) A Salsa and Beer or a Taco Truck run for some Mexican Food Hiking The Studio (Obviously) I’m a homebody, so keeping it simple and sweet usually does the job. The best memories I’ve made here with good friends of mine have always been in the simple things. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I first have to give a huge Shout Out to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I know it’s cliche, but it’s so true! Without Him? I wouldn’t be where I am today. Another big shout-out goes to my wife Samantha O’Bannon for all of her support! She’s been there from the beginning of this LA journey. I’d also have to give a big shout-out to Carlos King my business partner, Third Encore Studios for housing my studio for over 3 years now, and my roster of artists, singers, songwriters, and producers for believing in the dream and wanting to be apart of the journey. 2021 holds a lot of solid wins for us all!!! LET’S GET IT!!!
