We had the good fortune of connecting with Tim Hanaseth and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tim, how does your business help the community?
I started Hanaseth Media as a tribute to my father who passed away from Cancer, he took photos as a hobby for nostalgia racing on weekends after working long days as an electrician. I took for granted my time with him reviewing all 500+ photos from his weekend getaways taking 35mm stills he was great at it, had an eye for finding the shots that I quickly realized I got from him. There was no actual thought process behind creating Hanaseth Media I work a 9-5 job in the movie industry and thought to myself that it would be a good idea to develop a small production company to help build up businesses, social media and digital content.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Getting to where I am at right now has not been easy, going out and shooting videos is one thing a full day / night of getting the content you need. Then self teaching myself how to edit and the countless hours of sitting behind the computer putting in all that hard work and putting the stories you captured into a final project takes days even weeks. Not every shoot I do is the same though, there are projects that I can turn around right away finishing an edit the same day as I shoot giving my clients a fast turnaround is whats important. 99.9% of the time my boys see me working behind a computer before and after they go to bed, my wife falling asleep while Im still managing finishing my work so I can still focus on getting my 9-5 job done as well. The work and efforts Im putting in now is helping me get to where I want to be with my company. Social Media blasts and re-posting my work always helps and has also had a key factor in growing as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Love taking my wife and family for drives along the coast and most of all visiting my good friends winery in Los Olivos. Chris Blasman with Four Brothers wine is the best escape from the city and the small town vibe along with his amazing wine keeps our family going back (when the restrictions of outdoor dining are obviously not in effect lol) Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out and give thanks to my wife Courtney, I work 60 hour weeks and then on the weekends and even weekday nights I am off working sometimes for free trying to build my business while she is at home alone with no help raising our three young boys Beau, Gunner and Duke. I also want to give thanks to my clients for believing in me to create their content and putting the visions we have into film!
