We had the good fortune of connecting with Maxx Nies and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maxx, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal is to take my own life experiences, emotions, and feelings and express them in my music to free myself of them but also to connect with my listeners who might relate to them. I want to have a huge and successful music career but at the same time I want to help people heal through my music.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I write my music from my most honest and vulnerable self so that I can heal myself and others at the same time as my lyrics consist of some of my most intense feelings, emotions, thoughts and experiences. Im extremely proud of my self for doing this and being so open and honest and I don’t regret it for a second. Seeing and hearing people react and relate to my lyrics has been so mind-blowing and rewarding. I know that music and writing has changed my life in so many positive ways but when people express that my own lyrics do the same for them its one of the best feelings in the world. I got where I am today by making music my whole life. When I really started writing my album that Im putting out, I was in a very dark lonely place. This led me to going to music as my only friend and safe place. Its what kept me going and helped me see the light again. I put it all out in my music and had expressed everything Id been going through. By doing this people started listening and relating and as that started happening my career started growing! This was definitely nerve racking sharing all of my secrets and my most vulnerable self but at the end of the day I’ve realized everyone has a story so why not talk about it and support and connect with others who share similar experiences.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area and I wanted to show them the best time Id probably show them Californias nature. California’s nature is really cool because you can get a taste of the mountains, the beach, hikes with waterfalls, crazy animals and beautiful weather without going too far! So with that being said I’d take them on a hike by the beach and then find a cute little juice bar and get some smoothies and just enjoy the beautiful nature and weather. At the same time though, LA has a really fun city life so we’d definitely have to do some shopping and dining around the city!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest shout out goes to my mom. She has stood by me through everything. She’s never doubted me and has supported me through everything with unconditional love, respect, understanding and no judgement. She is my best friend, my biggest supporter, a person who has saved my life, and most importantly the best mom I could ever imagine asking for.
