We had the good fortune of connecting with Samuel Isaiah Hunter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samuel Isaiah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Some of my main goals have always been to uplift people, inspire them through testimonies, bring people together and show them they aren’t alone, and spark hope in those who may need it. I believe long term the seeds I’m planting with this business will be able to do just that and more on a worldwide scale and last for generations to come.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m excited about how everything I’ve been blessed to be a part of connects and intertwines. I act, I write, I create clothing, I work with an organization called Justice Consulting where we combat Sex Trafficking and I’m working on a few other things. All of them seem so different but as I’m moving along on this journey I’m starting to see the relevancy in how all of them connect. The through-line is becoming more evident and mysterious at the same time.

In December of 2020, I wrapped my first feature film titled Oracle. It’s being produced by Will Packer Productions and Universal Pictures. That was a mind-blowing experience for me and has been one of the highlights of my life. I’m so excited to see all that comes from this when the film releases!

No one’s journey is ever easy, but everyone’s journey is unique. The only way I overcame the challenges that came my way was through holding on to God and His promises and by allowing the people He put into my life to help me. I go into detail in some of my poetry books and on other platforms as well about some of the challenges I’ve faced, but there are so many things I’ve gone through that nobody knows about. There are many times I could’ve lost my life and there were plenty of seasons filled with depression and anxiety as well as personal health issues. One of the most important lessons I believe I’ve learned is the value of the right community. In times like that, the people around you will either lift you up or tear you down even more. I’ve experienced both sides of that coin and I’ve come to cherish the friends God has given me even more now.

I just want people to experience hope and genuine love when they see whatever comes from my life and this business that’s being built. I want them to know that it was not by my hands that any of this has come to fruition. I also want them to know a lot. As off as that sounds. I just want to be transparent basically.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I tend to bounce all over the place so my answers will probably reflect that mindset.

During the winter season, a trip to the mountains is a must. It’s so cool that it snows in some parts of California. Mount baldy is a trip that we would have to make or even Big Bear. Being from the south, snow is something that captivates me easily. My favorite place is the beach, so we would have to go out to Malibu or Marina Del Rey and take a trip there.

In terms of food, the L.A Autentica Birrieria taco truck in North Hollywood has the best tacos in my opinion. They’re also very nice and humble people which makes the experience even better.

I like to show people where I used to live near Hollywood Blvd. I don’t like that area much because I’m more of a quiet person, and that area is very hectic, but just showing them my old apartment and stomping grounds seems like a must to me. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I literally would not be here without God. I’ve gone through some very rough seasons and through it all His love for me stayed the same and protected me.

Second, the great family, friends, and community He’s allowed me to experience has been overwhelming in the best way. When I’m down, when my mind is full of doubt, when I can’t see correctly, they always lift me up and speak light into my life. I realize how rare it is to have good people around you who care for you in the way I see they care for me, so that’s something I won’t take for granted. I want to give some specific shoutouts as well. At the beginning of last year, I was in North Hollywood. I was working yet I had no money in my checking or savings account, no car, and I was barely making it. Some days I would wake up trying to figure out how I was going to be able to afford food when my food benefits would run out. My friends Jeanette, Micaiah, and Alexis made sure that I had a ride and always made sure I was never left out. It’s easy to think in times like that you are all alone, but they would consistently prove to me otherwise.

In terms of my career with acting, I have to shoutout my manager Matilda with Fictious Management and my agent Traci at Brevard Talent. They believed in me when I had nothing and they had every reason to not give me a chance yet they did. I hope to be with them for the rest of my life. They have become more than just a manager or agent to me. I consider them to be family now.

There are plenty of people I could name from my hometown of Jacksonville, FL but if I got into that right now this would turn into an essay. I love that city so dearly.
