Meet Ben Hermann: Actor/comedian

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben Hermann and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ben, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I am a big believer in trusting my gut. Sometimes the logical choice isn’t always the best one for you. I’ve had several opportunities to pursue more traditional paths, with better pay and benefits, but i know in my gut that i’m on the right path for me. At the end of the day if you don’t feel happy or fulfilled doing what you’re doing, then what even is it for?

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is an amplification of my voice and my story, and only I can really tell it. Every journey has challenges, and some are overcome easily, others get the best of you but every one is an opportunity to learn and grow. I’m on this path because it’s where i feel i belong and i’ll continue that way until that is no longer the case.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d definitely want to take advantage of everything LA has to offer, we’d go to the beach and the mountains for sure. We’d probably hit up some comedy clubs like Tao or the Laugh Factory, some great brunch spots like Porto’s or Broken Egg.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where i am today without the support of my loving family. They have cheered me on every step of the way, and helped me in troubled times as well.
