Meet Andrés Zapata: Director & Writer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrés Zapata and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrés, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process for starting any business has to start with passion. Daring to be passionate is a trait of mine I have been aware of since my childhood. I believe that the most innovating and amazing people to have ever lived were known for the dedication to their craft. The passion they exuded gave us that historical zeal we as a society acknowledge most.
Whether it’s been screenwriting, photography, or directing, I think I gravitate towards creating art that any human could enjoy and be left suspended in disbelief. I want my creations to bring joy, awe, and wonder into people’s lives at whatever means necessary. In my eyes, our lives here are temporary, and if my artwork can relate to their life’s journey — that alone gives reason to being passionate in business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My latest business venture I am excited to share with the world is called Atelier Andres. Inspired by the Louvre Museum in Paris, France — Atelier Andres is an online marketplace catered to providing a global service for museum grade art.
I believe the problem we are solving is connecting the modern art world with the technological advancements of our times. Museums like the Louvre have always shared stories of artists, their artwork, and the journey of the pieces themselves. Somewhere along the way, society lost a lot of access to the worlds most historical art. In this transition of societal consumerism, less visual artists, craftsmen, and specialists were being recognized globally—and their art deemed inaccesible to the masses.
With the potential of there being dozens of modern Basquiat’s going unknown and not popularized to global appraise, Atelier Andres is a curated marketplace where art of the past, present, and future have worldwide access. Existing online stores such as Amazon, eBay, Etsy, or Facebook have found success in being what they are but do not offer high quality art of the worlds best. I hope that the next Van Gogh doesn’t live life unnoticed, and I hope that every piece of art makes your space feel like you walked into the Louvre. We as a society deserve access to our dreams, and if you have ever dreamt of being connected to the best art of your time, I believe we are solving that problem.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Emiliano Ciuti, my mentor. A man of great wisdom who has supported my creative journey every step of the way. A wonderful soul with his own gallery of incredible achievements, which I believe has influenced and made a lasting impression on who I am. He is why I have the continued confidence to be a leader and artist.
