We had the good fortune of connecting with Andre Sebastian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andre, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
My dream job was to work at Google. After an internship, and a year working full-time there, I decided to leave the company. Not because I didn’t enjoy working there, but because I felt like it wasn’t the right place for me at the time, based on my goals and where I saw my future. Of course, my family, friends, and audience thought this was a crazy decision but I wouldn’t be where I am today without making that decision.

What should our readers know about your business?

We started DreLau because we realized our networks combined here in LA becomes something so powerful. We also love spoiling our friends and creating experienceS unlike anything else. That’s why we’re excited to announce that DreLau House is a private members’ club aimed at providing experiences and value to our members and brand partners. Not only do we host our own private events, we produce events for our partners and take our members on unique trips around the world. Our mission is to make the world even smaller than it already is so when you join DreLau House, you are introduced to a network of the world’s smartest, most creative, hard-working, and well known individuals. Think, SoHo House, but make it Gen Z.

In a past life, I was a User Experience Designer at places like Google & Microsoft and now I’m creating new kinds of experiences.

To me, DreLau is the accumulation of everything I’ve worked on and all the people I’ve met the past few years. Since Day 1 of moving here to LA, I’ve made an effort to meet the most diverse group of people from magicians, to DJs, to even reality tv show stars. I also work with some awesome brands like Sour Patch Kids and Malibu Rum. By using my network of influencers, celebrities, and brands, I’ve been able to host some of the best experiences in the city that benefit both brands and creators. They only keep getting better from here so hit us up and let’s collab!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I know it’s cliche, but my favorite place in the city is Sunset Blvd. From restaurants like Pink Taco, to clubs like Hyde, it has all my favorite spots. It’s the best feeling in the world to be driving down the Sunset Strip on my way to a cool party in the hills. That road is literally what 12 year old me dreamed of when I thought about what I’d be doing at 27.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to my mom, Judy Pangilinan! The biggest thing I learned from her growing up was to never be complacent. No matter how many goals I accomplished or whatever success came my way, I always had to think about what was next. It’s good to celebrate your victories but there’s so much more to do in life. Keep going! You might have only just begun!
