We had the good fortune of connecting with Rashida Diva Shabazz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rashida Diva, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always been very creative even as a child and I would make jobs for myself to earn money. A family friend showed me how to make beaded bracelets. Once I mastered it I made some, put them on a tray, and walk around my building selling them for 25 cent to a dollar when I was about 8yrs old. I have a BS in Business administration. The thought process behind starting a business and being an entrepreneur started way before Golden Drops Hair Oil was created. I feel like I always connected to being a boss rather then a worker. Although I had definitely worked for many others over the years

What should our readers know about your business?
Golden Drops Hair Growth Oil is a product I created in 2009. It’s an Organic. all natural hair growth treatment. Over the years clients have gotten remarkable results! I’m excited because in 2020 I decided to relaunch and revamp the business. I started with the name (previously The Transformation Oil. I was choosing a tittle more fitting so there would be zero guess work. It took some time getting everything in order. What I learned is clients care but not really about the name and or packaging as long as the product is great quality and it delivers. Thankfully Golden Drops Hair Growth Oil does just that! This handcrafted hair oil gets the job done! My challenges have been minimal. I feel like God gave me this product for myself and others so therefore the way to success has definitely been paved with many blessings. I have learned some very valuable lessons along the way with this business. Number one is that you set the tone for your business and how others see it. Number two is that you are responsible for the success or lack there of your business. No one will work harder for your business than you will. I would love for the world to know that before each batch of Golden Drops Hair Growth Oil is made a prayer is said for your scalp and hair growth. The first ingredient in this oil is love. And I would say that it’s the most powerful one!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m originally from The Bronx, New York. I’ve lived in California for 3 years. One of those years was in lock down. If my best friend came to town we would have to discover some cool places together. I’m always down for some good vegan adjacent food and a good day party! One of my favorites is Kiss n grind, best day party ever! You forget it’s the daytime. My friend and I would definitely have to go to Hollywood boulevard to see the stars and interesting people in that area. I know there’s a ton to do in LA so getting out would be fun even without a clear destination. My best friend and are wing it girls. So we would hit these good LA streets and see what fun adventures we could create!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shout outs first go to God, my Spirit guides, and my Angels who constantly assist me on this journey. My parents get a huge shout out for being willing to have me and give me unwavering love and support! Next I’d like to shout out my three sons. They are some of my biggest supporters and hype men. They make it that much more important for me to live my life to the fullest because I know they are watching! I’d like to shout out my two sisters for their undying love and support during this amazing roller coaster like journey called life. Lastly I have to shout out my person/bestie for always being a sounding board and supporter.
