Meet Vaughn Page: Veteran & Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Vaughn Page and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vaughn, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
When I was in the military and deployed to Qatar and stationed in Okinawa, I always went out of my way to make people laugh and entertain everyone around me. There have been obstacles in my life and after my enlistment, I decided to take a chance on myself and pursue my dreams. I did the leg work and have put myself in a position to make my dreams a reality. It started with believing in myself and reaching for more than the status quo.

This led me to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. I want to leave a legacy that inspires others to take risks, challenge, and believe in themselves. I want to be remembered as someone who has positively impacted those around me and pursued my dreams and passions while staying true to myself and navigating any situation or scenario with determination and a smile on my face.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an Air Force Veteran. I was comfortable in the Air Force, but I knew I wanted more for my life. The Air Force taught me discipline and gave me a purpose when I needed one. One of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make was whether to re-enlist or separate from the Air Force. I decided to separate from the military and push myself out of my comfort zone. One of the things I’m most proud of is the work and planning I put into getting myself to where I am today as a working actor. I knew it was not going to be easy, but I did my research, made a plan, and stayed the course. I’m thankful that I have had my talent management team and family in my corner to help and support me along the way.
After separating from the military, I started out training at El Camino College in their Theatre program full time. It seemed like things just started to fall into place once I put myself out there and bought into what I was being taught in class. I learned the fundamentals of acting, and built a strong foundation at El Camino. I was cast in every production the school had that year, and graduated in the summer of 2018.
After El Camino, I found the organization “Veterans in Media & Entertainment” a group of veterans who actively work in the industry as crew, directors, actors, writers etc. They provided me with a wealth of knowledge on how to navigate the entertainment industry, and how to present a professional package of headshots, resumes, and reels to agents and managers. From here, I did background work for a year, and had some minor parts in indie projects on Amazon Prime. In 2019, I booked a national Pepsi commercial which helped me gain some exposure and become eligible to join the union.
After signing with Kreativ, I started gaining momentum. At the end of 2020 I booked my first feature, “Untitled David O. Russell Project”. I got the opportunity to work with and build personal relationships with actors I’ve grown up watching. The confidence I gained from that experience carried me into booking my first two co-stars on HBO max and Netflix streaming services.
There are a few lessons that stand out to me. One is that “work begets work ‘’ and there isn’t a role or job too small. I’ve learned that you have to maintain an even keel and let what you have no control over roll off your shoulders. I make it a point to enjoy every second on set and live in the moment.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The atmosphere and fans at a Lakers or Dodgers game are next to none so I would recommend going to a game. I would see what musicals are playing and hit up the Pantages Theater and then a movie at the Chinese Theatre. Pre- Covid, I would definitely make sure to take my visitors to Smorgasburg LA to try out the different food vendors there. I would take someone visiting for a ride up the PCH and stop at the Reel Inn in Malibu for a meal.

I’m a SouthBay guy so we’d have to get a coffee and breakfast at North End Caffe in Manhattan Beach before walking on the strand. For lunch we’d go to Hermosa Pier and get a bite to eat at Silvio’s Brazilian BBQ. Getting to the beach early and finding a nice spot to post up by the water is essential to any trip in the South Bay. The Standing Room’s burgers smack so we’d either have to go there or to Hermosa Brewing Company for food and drinks after spending some time at the beach.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My talent manager, Brent Paxton, has been in my corner and has encouraged me since day one. He checks in and is always positive and encouraging. They work tirelessly at Kreativ Media Partners and I couldn’t ask for a more supportive team behind me.

I would like to shout-out to my family and loved ones. I learned how to work hard from watching my father growing up. He passed his love for basketball and competition down to me. My mother pushed me to get out of my comfort zone and signed me up for the boy scouts, church choir, clown school, safari club, etc. It was important to her that my sister and myself had well-rounded childhoods. My younger sister is and always will be my biggest fan.

I’m thankful to my Air Force family that supported me through my journey, pushed me to get up every morning and persevere. I’ve learned that life sometimes is not fair but even on your worst day you still have to give maximum effort and things will get better.

My girlfriend and her family have been behind me every step of the way and their support and encouragement has been invaluable. I remember the first audition I ever had was at El Camino College, and while waiting for my turn in the lobby she sat with me and helped me drill lines. She sat with me while also having a stack of paperwork from her own job as a teacher to work on. Her father surprised me and showed up to my opening weekend performance in my first musical at El Camino. I’m so thankful for the genuine love and support I’ve received.
