We had the good fortune of connecting with Young Waldo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Young, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Honestly, I feel I like was naturally gifted with the ability to write music and it always gave me feelings of happiness & fulfillment like no other! I always had a niche for writing detailed stories in school and that later translated to writing detailed stories in my music, creating songs and feelings in people that I’ve never thought would be possible. Seeing my music touch others emotionally and so deeply only inspired me to want to keep making music and be an artist for a living.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m currently most excited about my new project “Waldy’s World” where I’m deilvering a whole ‘nother side & sound from me! I’m eager to show the world my versatility and the sounds that are very cool to me!! As far as where I’m at today, I feel I haven’t reached the heights that I want to get yet, but I can definitely say it’s not an overnight thing. The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is to keep going forward no matter what and stay consistent in what you do. That’s the magic recipe to success! I want the world to know that I’m a very cool & unique individual and that I live by my own standards, regardless of what the internet or the world pushes out as “cool”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmmm, first on my list would the Venice Canals in Venice, CA. It resembles the Venice Canals and is very mind-blowing to me because it’s nothing but million dollar homes with canals and boats as their backyard view. Oh and palm trees too!! Next we would go to Malibu and drive along the PCH for some priceless ocean and mountain views before going to dinner at Nobu. Echo Park is definitely on the list because of it’s old school LA vibes and great food & nightlife selection as well as the Echo Park Lake swan boats. Annies Soul Delicious (Little Ethiopia), Sweet Chick (Fairfax District) & Taco Tumadre (Larchmont Village) would be out main go-to food spots!! These are the most interesting places for a good time in my opinion. Koreatown also has fun nightlife as well.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d have to give a major shoutout to No Limit Records for being a major influence in my music career as well as a person period. They always stuck to their sound and did everything their way, following no rules of the industry and they moved very vigilante as a unit. That molded me into being the same way in my music, making the sound that I personally like and doing whatever makes me happy, regardless of what anyone says or thinks.
