We had the good fortune of connecting with Hallie Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hallie, how does your business help the community?
My business Pinxav Diaper Rash Cream, ( pink salve ) ,was developed to help the community from its inception. The Pinxav formula was created in 1927 by my grandfather , Milford j Harris , while he was in Pharmacy School . He set out to help friends neighbors and his own son who suffered from rashes . Lillian Harris, my grandmother a social worker and future Pinxav.com owner believed in charity to help those less fortunate . She ran the company until she was 97 and believed in “ the human element “ and its importance in business . “It’s not only about making a profit you must treat others with respect and kindness”
She valued her customers and employees and often sold tubes of Pinxav on credit to those who promised to pay when they were able

I continue the family tradition today with the integrity of product. I use only high quality ingredients in the Pinxav formula. I adapted a money back guarantee in 2000 when I began working with my grandmother . It was wonderful to have her wisdom and guidance as I learned the family business.
I have donated Pinxav tubes to hospitals in my community and brought Pinxav with me to a medical mission in Honduras.
Even though we are a small business we are not waiting til we are big to make a difference in the community . During this challenging economic and stressful time do to the pandemic, I have given free tubes to caregivers and parents. Some of the charities I have contributed to here in Los Angeles are, A Place Called Home , Zero Breast Cancer and Same Sex Parents . I hope to continue to grow so I can make a positive difference to parents ,seniors, and active adults everywhere .

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am proud of many aspects of my business, especially the longevity. I continue the legacy of a family business that has lasted three generations. The fact that my grandmother ran the business until she was 97 years old is remarkable and a testement to her never ending work ethic. I was priviledged to learn from her and I value that time we spent working togerher. I am excited that we are an all female run company. My sister, Jodi ,joined Pinxav recently and is head of social media marketing. The real vaule in our brand are its healing proporties. Our formula consists of zinc oxide, aloe, vitamin E,, oil of clove and eucalypitol. These ingrediants not only prevent but heal skin irritations of all ages. We can be your all in one skin care cream. I have heard so many uses for PInxav over the years. Our customers have used pinxav for chaffing, acne, bug bites, cuts, chapped skin, sport chaffing (biking surfing etc) and pressure sores from those confined to wheel chairs.
It is not easy to break into new markets but the psotive corespondance from our customers, is what keeps me motivated to grow our brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love having friends and family visit me in Los Angeles. I always reccomend hiking in Santa Monica Mts, and walking on our gorgeous beaches. Our city has something for everyone so it is easy to cater the visit to my guests. We coud spend a day shopping and eating out on Abbout KInney. I love all the ehtnic and historic neighborhoos such as China town, and Little Tokyo. One of favorite places for night time entertainment is the Largo at the Coronet. Its always a hilarous show and a great way to show guests a fun night out.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
