We had the good fortune of connecting with Graveto and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Graveto, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks is routine when we talk about entrepreneurship. We assume the risk of “leaving” a stable career in an office, receiving a salary on the right payment days and with some benefits. When we talk about music and art, we take the risk that this can often take us away from family and friends. So, we would either struggle forever with the risk or accept that it is part of our daily lives, and we think it is better to accept it. We would even say that “Risk” is practically another partner of ours.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In the musical world, it is common for artists and bands to end up ignoring this boring and bureaucratic part of recording everything. Name, songs, melodies, songs, soon, have a contract. Although it seems simple, this makes many bands / artists end up taking blows and losses in the future, just for not having those first records. In our songs, we always try to write about things and feelings that we live so that we can be as deep as possible in the theme. We have learned over time that we must accept some technical limitations that we have and that we should always try to share those limitations with better people who are better able than we are and so we can go up step by step on this immense ladder.
No, it is not easy, not at all, but each achievement is very rewarding and it makes the fight very worthwhile.
Our way of overcoming challenges is always to try to look a little further, to wait for the right moment so that we can have a macro view of what is happening and what options we can choose and its consequences.
We learned that the best way to do something is always your way, there is no recipe or definition of what is right or what is wrong, it is often just about doing or not doing. And we also learned that it is impossible to please everyone always and that we must choose the best for Graveto as a priority always.
We want the world to know that Graveto is a band of 3 school friends, coming from the south of São Paulo and who came to bring music and show everyone that it is possible to live from music and art, that art can cross geographical and linguistic. And everything is art! Pleasure, we are the Graveto!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First, we would take this friend to have a delicious Pizza Rodizio at Casa Da Pizza, which has the best flavors and at a very fair price. But, we can also go to one of our bakeries. One of the best things in São Paulo are the Bakeries, where you can eat everything with a good flavor and very quickly.
For an unforgettable moment we would take him to visit the Guarapiranga Reservoir, practically a beach within the city, a place that few people know but that makes us love the southern part of São Paulo ( where we live). It makes it look like we’re in a small country town. And to end the night, we would take our friend to have some drinks at Graja Beer Pub, A great pub in our neighborhood here in Grajaú, with craft beers and good drinks.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We certainly have people who are and will be on our way and we want to dedicate our Shotout. Our family and friends who understand this battle that we choose to fight. Speech therapist Ana Terra and Instituto Cor e Voz who guided us for some time at the beginning of our artistic career. The producer of our first album Júlio Mossil, great friend and great person. Vander Carneiro, a master in the art of mixing and mastering and who teaches us a lot. And of course, our friend and partner Henrique Roncoletta who is with us and looking for the best opportunities to show our work.
