We had the good fortune of connecting with Francesca Crowley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Francesca, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Music and playing music has been an important factor my entire life. In 2020, after receiving treatment for an eating disorder, my career path moved in different directions. I am currently studying to become a music therapist at Cal State Northridge. This new venture in my music career has brought forth a new challenge in balancing my music career and my professional career as a future music therapist. With these challenges, balancing my music career and my professional studies has bridged a new creativity in my songwriting and my music career path.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I released my first single, Air Balloon, in 2017. I remember it came out at midnight and my producer and I got in an Uber to go celebrate and the Uber driver played it on his Spotify. It was a magical moment. The music industry fuels anxiety and questions self-worth. To push through this doubt and to believe in myself, I used the love and support of family members as well as friends. I have learned that music is subjective and not everyone will understand or believe in what I am doing, but if at least one person does, that counts. I want people to know I will always be my authentic self and that is where my songwriting thrives.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ferndell Trail – Griffith Park, Switzer Falls – Los Angeles National Forrest.

Getting outdoors is something that inspires me to write. I like to be away from technology as much as possible. The Los Angeles basin is home to hundreds of different cultures which allow a friend from a different city to see a different view of the world.

Bacari W 3rd – Aesthetically pleasing – you go through a beautiful archway to get to the outdoor dining. They have great tapas and wine.
