We had the good fortune of connecting with Amira Polack and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amira, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Appreciate people’s humanity – including your own. An economy that increasingly fosters an always-on workaholism has risked reducing human value to “productivity” and dollars. Remember: a) you would certainly not value the people you love by the yardstick of their career and business success; b) the people who work with and for you are also humans; c) you are not your work. This gets harder and harder to remember, but when we do remember to value and appreciate people’s humanity, we remember kindness, we remember to say “thank you,” and perhaps, we remember that the purpose of business, career, and money are to serve *humanity,* and not the other way around. Bonus: this authentic appreciation of the humanity around you is not just the right approach, but may also become your greatest professional edge.

Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others.
Struct Club brings structure to music-inspired fitness. We have a mobile app (free to download on the App Store) where you can grab or choreograph workout plans to the beat and flow of custom Spotify and Apple Music playlists.

What you are most proud of or excited about.
At Struct Club, what makes me the most proud and excited at the end of the day is how we elevate the way people move – to make them stronger, happier, and healthier. “I feel better in my body.” “Working out with Struct Club showed me I could do something I never thought I could.” “I had a positively existential experience.” I love hearing about the stories of our community members, and I get excited to understand how our product has improved their lives. This is why I do what I’m doing!

Was it easy? If not how did you overcome the challenges?
If this were easy, I’d be bored. 🙂 While every challenge is different, I always return to WHY. Why am I doing this? When things get hard, re-igniting my passion by re-anchoring in our purpose and the positive impact we make gets me through every time. Also, taking basic care of myself – getting proper sleep, nutrition, exercise, personal/family/friends time – are some basic elements of life that help enable me to be strong and prepared for the inevitable challenges that come with entrepreneurial work.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Fitness should be fun, amazing, and accessible for everyone – not just for the few. I want you to go to the App Store right now, try one of our free workouts, and let me know what you think @structclub @amirapolack : https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1355517668?pt=118980699&ct=VoyageLA%20Article%202&mt=8
