Meet Kolby Talbert | Owner of Free Minds Movement and Actor/ Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kolby Talbert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kolby, how does your business help the community?
Free Minds Movement is more than clothing. It is a lifestyle. It is a way of life. Today we are seeing a lot of division. Between BLM, Left, Right, Up, and Down, there is a wall between people not oly in my community, but world wide. We try to give anyone and everyone a voice. Whether they are afraid to,, or are having trouble expressing themselves; our goal is to give that voice. We want to be more than just clothes but a movement towards freedom, free thinking, and unity through our same differences.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business life has been a road of struggle and triumph. It really kicked off one day on set six or so years ago. On set of a short film, I met Bryan the Owner of 2nd Team Entertainment LLC. We have been working together ever since and became like brothers. Eventually I hit a low point in life and ended up in the hospital after a suicide attempt. He was the first through the door and told me he would hold it down while I get my mind right. To this day I appreciate him telling me that because I eventually came back better than ever. Ever since then, I wanted to start finding a way to do something that would give voices to people who are for whatever reason unable to speak up/ out, and bring unity to the people who are a little different from the person wearing one of our items.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Without Covid- I would start witih a two day trip to San Diego and tour the World Famous San Diego Zoo and everything that has to offer. Next, we head back and go oto Laugh Factory and anjoy a night of comedy, and the following evening head to Santa Monica and enjoy the beaach and the pier. And of course touring the delicioius foods L.A. has to offer. Then cap off the trip at Griffith Observatory.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out goes to the people that have had my back since forever. Thank you to Raff and Anderson, you both deserve all the blessings this world can give you. I appreciate you both. Momma Sis Pops and Brother, you all have been there when you didn’t need to be. Adopting me and Kayla awhen we were young. thank you so much for including us into your family. I am forever in your debt. But Momma, you deserve the biggest rose. You said yes when you had the opportunity without hesitation. You gave us love that was beyond anything I could have imagined. You deserve more than the cards you have been dealt in life. I hope I can repay all of you the love and kindness a million fold.
