We had the good fortune of connecting with Ombute Devi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ombute Devi, how does your business help the community?
In these times of epic change I am helping my community cultivate a deeper and more meaningful relationship to that within us that never changes. That guides, protects, heals, transforms and loves us. I do this work with individuals in sacred journey space and sacred witnessing sessions.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My “business” is my life practice, meaning that which I am engaging in as my own healing and transformation at the moment. I have been a healing arts practitioner for over 25 years. I started as a massage therapist on sport horses and their riders, then I got a doctorate in chiropractic and bioenergetic medicine and spent two decades in a clinical setting working with patients. I was forced to let go of my clinical practice after I had a radical kundalini awakening that rendered me unable to perform my work as a doctor. It took a few years for me to get my orientation back. For any normalcy of life to return while raising a young child on my own and trying to stay sane during the rough time integrating my new life perspective. However, this heart opening life event matured me into my ancestral medicine which hails from the African Orisha traditions and Sami Noaidi lineage from Sweden. This is now the practice I am in…helping others normalize their own awakening and supporting the transformative process of bringing aspects of self to consciousness for personal healing. My lessons, I guess, is that we are always evolving, whether we like it or not, whether we are conscious of it or not. That life is sacred and love is the creative source and force within us, expressed in infinite ways through the most unique manifestations of the human being. Healing the Unseen, is my personal mantra that I want to share with others to inspire joyous play, growth, healing, intrapersonal and interpersonal intimacy, love and connection.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I live on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula nature is the best place for visiting. Hiking Carmel Valley’s Garland Park, Big Sur’s many hiking trails, the white sandy beaches of Carmel and the number of very special restaurants in town like Seventh & Dolores Steakhouse, Corkscrew in the valley and Nepenthe in Big Sur. Spaing at CVAC amongst trees in the forest or at Esalen on the cliffs by the Pacific Ocean. If that is not enough, then we could take a charter boat and say hello to the whales, dolphins, seals, otters, sharks etc. that lives in and outside of the bay.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Sally Kempton, she has been my friend, mentor, teacher and client during a pivotal part of my last decade.
