We had the good fortune of connecting with Nina Boski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nina, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
One of my favorite quotes and it is one I created, “In order to speed up, you have to learn how to slow down.” Part of the reason it is my favorite quote is I use it often, especially after the year we have had with the pandemic. Most of us are living out of balance – with too much stress; too much working and not enough recharge. Just like a high performance, peak athlete, we must learn how to “do” and “be” in the world. We live in a “do-do” society, and we need to learn how to “do-be.” This might mean, taking time to be with you, mediate, walk in nature or just take time to conceptualize your next step without being in such a hurry. Life is about enjoying the process, not getting completely overwhelmed by it. We have to slow down just a bit, so then, we can speed up again and be fueled and filled with energy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My company Life Bites Global gets you thinking and inspired in your life through life, business, and media. Usually, bite-sized content that gets you thinking about a particular subject. It is designed to be fun, thought-provoking, and entertaining. My mission in life is to transform people’s lives whether it is one-to-one or reaching millions of people.

Personally, I am what I call a “Combo Special.” I live in both the world of media and transformation. I have the ability to move from a life and business coaching space, often called, a “transformational business and energy coach” and I am a producer – producing four projects (podcast docuseries and feature film), three of them are around the iconic, Marilyn Monroe. What makes me different is I am an out-of-the-box thinker and I combine the energy of business with the practicality of being successful in the material world. I also love Classic Hollywood and I host two shows in the classic Hollywood world. The shows are “Classic Nina” and “Take 2” on the Best Classics Ever channel.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Hermosa Beach, so the beach would be a fun sunspot to hit first. It is the core of Los Angeles’s South Bay. We would then take a ride up to Terra Nea (“Nelsons” – Overlooking the cliffs of Palos Verdes and take in the view. We might bike up to the Marina now that things are opening up and grab some Mexican food on the patio at the Baja Cantina. If they were up to do some walking, we might walk the Venice beach boardwalk to take in all the variety of people who visit and live in LA.

Because I am a media girl, we would also have to take a Hollywood tour of some kind to the old Hollywood joints, “April’s Old Hollywood” or “LA Woman Tours.” We certainly would have to visit the Formosa Café and the legendary, Musso and Franks. I would then have to give them the Marilyn Monroe tour, since she lived most of her life in many parts of Los Angeles. (Hawthorne, West Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Van Huys and Brentwood.)

We would have to visit downtown and the art district – We would stroll through the decorated blocks and stop at one of the most fun and popular German restaurants, Wurstküche and grab a hot dog on the way back to the South Bay.

In order to put some adventure into this trip, we would boat over the Catalina for the day and swim, zipline through the trees and dine at some of their local restaurants, like Blue Water Avalon.

We would then head back to Hermosa and make sure we hit the favorite breakfast hangouts, Java Man and Martha’s. We would also stroll across the street and eat at the Botte Inn (Wonderful Italian food) to make sure they get a chance to visit some of the wonderful Hermosa hot spots. If there is time, we might check out the local music club, The Light House Café on the Hermosa pier, and make sure we listened to either some reggae, classic rock or if we are lucky enough, hear one of our favorite crooners, Joe Cipolla (singing Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, and Frank Sinatra).

Alright, so let’s jump right in! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there a person, group, organization, book, etc. that you want to dedicate your shoutout to? Who else deserves a little credit and recognition in your story?
Oh, there are so many – The book(s) shoutout is one of my all-time favorites, The Power of Intention (the late Dr. Wayne Dyer) and The Road Less Travelled (Dr. Scott Peck) and Don Miguel Ruiz (The Four Agreements)

Several supporters, David Kingsdale and Caryn Picker, who helped launch my company

Mentors over my life, Nancy Barker, Carrie Brooks, Christine Waters, and Guru Singh
