We had the good fortune of connecting with Mimi Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mimi, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Trust your heart. People will always have opinions, but. even if they followed your same passion, their experiences are limited to only their own eyes and not yours. People also have personal interests, and these might not be aligned with yours. Your love for whatever you’re doing has to be so big you’re willing to go beyond… To fall and stand up over and over again… to keep going

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My name is Michelle but people know me as Mimi. Since as long as I can remember my life revolved around music, I was born with this really intense vocational purpose. To open people’s eyes and heal others through my talent… music. I believe I’m an artist in every aspect of my life. I’ve always loved communication, forms of expression, and art spills through my mouth even when I talk. I’m very picky about my words because they carry an energy. Most of us have this artistic empathic energy within us but not everyone knows how to use it. I’ve learnt many lessons along the way but the one I live by today is life is too short to spend your time worrying. We use intelligence when we create, we are at one with the universe. Use that power to create positive circumstances. Don’t waste it creating the wrong scenarios. You are so powerful… choose wisely

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was here, I would first introduce her to my fruit salad of LA friends. What I love about them is that they are all from random places in the world but at the end of the day our connection is so strong that we’ve built these bonds through art and it’s incredible !!! So I would probably take my friend to Camie’s house, one of my good LA friends who happens to always throw epic parties at her apartment in Hollywood. Some places that are a MUST are Runyon Canyon, Fryman Canyon, Santa Monica, I’d probably make her try Silverlake Ramen (It’s SO GOOD !!) and if we also had time I’d make sure we visit Catalina Island and probably Big Bear. Supposing everything was wide open and covid was not a thing, I would also take my friend to School Night in Bardot, The Study Hollywood, and poetry nights. That’s so cool about LA

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Silvia Khal. She is not only a successful woman but she is an example of perseverance and friendship. Unlike most women in LA, Silvia supports other talented woman, she is confident enough to know that elevating others only elevates you.
