We had the good fortune of connecting with Chavonne Stewart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chavonne, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Exposher was created specifically for underserved girls living in low socioeconomic communities. To give them hope, expose them to life, cultures, careers, and the many possibilities that the world has to offer them. All in hopes that the girls would understand the gift of Exposher and use it to better their perspective concerning their current circumstances and their future. That’s exactly what Exposher is doing and in turn, cultivating wonderful citizens in these underserved and overlooked communities.

What should our readers know about your business?

Exposher is a mentorship organization serving inner-city girls. Our mission is to expose underserved girls of diverse backgrounds to career and life opportunities.

Exposher was founded by Chavonne Stewart, who’s from South Central LA. She was fortunate to experience life outside of the inner-city when she was in high school, and she embraced every opportunity that came her way. It is her mission to give girls what was given to her. “I want them to know that someone believes in them, and they can achieve anything they set their minds to achieve.” Through various mentoring programs they will experience different environments and cultures, and the goal is to make sure they understand that they don’t have to succumb to the type of life they’ve seen in their neighborhoods. There’s so much for them in this life!

It truly takes a village, and Exposher is an extension of the village for all underserved girls, and girls of color specifically.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
With the pandemic still lingering and affecting our social life, I would tell them to check out the beaches of Orange County and enjoy peace, beauty, and a somewhat open county where you can find good food!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The famous singer, songwriter Jackson Browne inspired me to create Exposher. I was able to tour the world with Jackson Browne and it opened my mind and changed my life. I believed that if my life could change from receiving exposure to the world, I could do the same for girls like me. Thank you Jackson Browne!
